What has his height got to do with anything? He was the same height when he was heavyweight champ.

Which was a disadvantage negated by his sheer power, which he no longer has due to muscle atrophy.

Police would stop him the same way they stop most. Tackle to the ground and possibly use a tazer.

It's too big for just one man, even a man with arms the size of Tyson and a head the size of King. ;)

I wonder if he was one of the cases Lester Freamon dug too deep on?

Yeah, its a real pity Cus D'Amato died so early in his career. If Tyson had been kept on the straight and narrow and away from the Don King circus, he could have went down in history as the greatest. I honestly don't think even Ali would have coped with him.

TYSON IMO is a legend. Theres no man would stop him in his day and i dont thik wee'll ever see a guy like him again. I thought he beat all his demons but i guess not. In saying that, i seen a pic of him not to long ago and he looked in great shape, whats he like now though

True.I hate comparing fighters with men from the past, but when you saw Ali's bogeymen (Norton,Frazier),Tyson was a Turbo charged, quicker, harder hitting fighter. My money would be on a Tyson with D'amato and Roach in his corner.

Unfortunately this same outcome has been played out all to often in boxing, many, many good men died broken broke men.

....I don't think I've ever seen another boxer at any weight that could use both hands with power the way he could. Lovely technique.

As regards broke men, I saw an article there about Iran Barkely. Ended up homeless at one stage, the poor sod.

Think I seen Tyson complaining about D'Amato making him think he was invincible and better than everyone.
Great for the ring but didn't serve him well outside of it.

You can bet that all the newspapers already have his obituary on file, needing only an update on the cause of death.
 you know that is true for every person of note? i.e. all obituaries are pre-written and just updated occasionally

Who would still hammer most of us on this thread in a fight.

Just reading on BBC website that Tyson says he is nearly dead from drink and drugs. He admits that he is a "vicious alcoholic"

I'm sure most people on here know someone who gets aggressive when boozed up and want to fight the world. These are dangerous people to be around when out for the night.

Question is if Tyson gets like this when drinking how would someone go about stopping him? Elephant tranquilliser perhaps?

    Get Lennox Lewis

Any boxer who was master of working the jab could beat him.
Lewis was one and Ali most certainly would have beaten him.

When you see a heavyweight dominate with a jab, it's nearly always against a slow monster with poor footwork. Tyson was a lot quicker than he looked.

I don't think even the best outside fighter could keep a prime Tyson from working his way in. And when he eventually gets in range, he only needs to catch them once, such was his power.

In his early days he frightened the life out of opponents with his power. But the depth in heavy weight boxing was pretty weak in those days. I mean Frank Bruno was considered a contender. If a fight went beyond 4 or 5 rounds it was all over for him. He was a very limited boxer and relied totally on power. His chin was not the best either.

It was some sight watching him take an opponent apart though, that he could do better than any boxer I have seen before or since.

I always remember Lennox....he's tagged in my mind with words and phrases such as "mono-paced", "descent of the heavyweight division into farce" etc. He also fought the person who was perhaps the worst boxer I've ever seen. Criminal that he was even let in the ring with another man.

Wore down the opponent . Tyson looked for the quick finish usually delivered with a series of hooks and uppercuts.
Holyfield fought toe to toe and hats off to him.
Agreed Lewis was a boring boxer but like Steve Davis and Jimmy White he got the result
    He kept Tyson out.
Would have loved for a prime Foreman vs Tyson.
    Sparks flying there

Tyson was a spent force at that stage.

George at his prime was indeed some bucko.

(I've looked up that boxer - Bruce Johnson......)

Agreed Ryson was washed up and I'd be of a mind to say that Lewis would have ended up like Beuno who had an opportunity to finish off tyson when he wobbled but hadn't the killer instinct.
When Tyson didnt get a knockdown early on in fights he got frustrated and became an undisciplined loose cannon hence his removal of part of Holyfields ear
Worth remembering Vegas loves boxers who showboat which led in my opinion to the greatest injustice in boxing history namely Haglers loss to Leonard in 85

I have much man love for Marvin Hagler. Now there was a great fighter. Remember watching him beat the daylights out of Alan minter. He was a tough cookie but saw him on question of sport a few times and came across like a gentleman.

Balls of steel. Never backed down. Always advanced on his opponent and wasn't recognised points wise for this.
