PS4 Pre-Order Thread! Where are you getting yours?

It seems though in carickmines it's first come first serve because they didn't mention any Lists, I asked 3 times was I guaranteed it launch day cause I've already pre ordered it in smyths in carickmines and I'm 110 on the list, then the manager told me don't worry we're getting the most amount in, in the country.

That still means I'm queuing before the shops open and taking the day off school.

Really the manager said they were getting the most in the country, Smyths have 22 stores in Ireland and Gamestop have 53 stores, I would imagine that Gamestop would be getting more.

no way is it first come first served.. so that means anybody pre ordering in march has as much chance of getting a ps4 as someone who pre ordered in july...:D.. It will be done on when you pre ordered not who is queuing up for the longest time.. if thats the case then there will be arguments everywhere,,,

Around mid July myself. At the time the girl behind the counter said there had been 70 odd pre orders in Smyths.

I've seen the actual list for that store, it definitely exists.

I ordered in Smyths Bray yesterday and got a standard "not guaranteed for launch day, but almost definitely before Christmas". Not particularly bothered about getting it absolutely on day one, so that'll do me fine.

Remember though: HMV are reopening next month, and unless the rumours they've existed the games business are true (surely not, I'd imagine), there will suddenly be several completely blank pre-order lists...

We're not the only ones putting orders down for ps4, the retailers have too as well and I don't think Hmv will be getting any of the launch ones 2 or so months before release. Any stock that Sony have for the foreseeable future will have been allotted already.

I preordered on June 16th in Gamestop Cork. Number 66 on "The List" Games I have PO are AC4, Watch Dogs, Knack, COD Ghosts, and a magma red controller. :P

I pre ordered in gamestop on Patrick street in cork the day after sonys e3 announcement. I was in there today paying off a bit more towards it and asked where I was in the list. Girl behind the counter didn't know, mentioned something about batch 2 and said you'll probably be fine for launch day.
Not exactly confidence inspiring.

Some of the Gamestop stores are not going by a list which is crazy, but thats what you get when they all have different store managers.

Patrick St is where I PO also and theres def a list, dunno why she told you that...
Im gonna head in on Fri to pay some more off, I'll ask again and see what the say..

Just checked my online order made on the 19th June with Gamestop and got this reply

"Your order number for the PS4 is xxxxx. This will be guaranteed to get to you for launch day."

I asked my Mrs to take the day off to look after the kids for me and so she can see the look of my face when I get my PS4! She said "more like the look on your face after waiting for the delivery man all day and he did not turn up"

At the time I seen it, there were about 75 people on it. The guy said they were expecting to get at least 50 consoles for launch day, & hopefully more.

They can tell you anything they like, but the truth is, the launch is very close to Xmas. If you're on the 2nd wave, you have to be prepared to wait as it may or may not be in time for xmas. I'd say it will be, but it'll be damn close.

I'm 56th on a gamestop list, the day I ordered the guy said he would be surprised if they didn't get enough to fulfil that many. When you think of it a shop with only 50 or so consoles at launch would make for a pretty miserable launch night....
Hopefully I do get one at launch but if not there's always GTA to carry me through.

Well maybe you will get one at launch but I wouldn't be 100% sure if I were you otherwise you'll be extremely disappointed. Anyone who PO after Aug 5th is not guaranteed a launch day console. Smyths at the end of the day are a business that are just looking for a sale.
You could start a ruckus if you want but im sure there will be people there who PO way before you who would also have no problem in making a show of them if you were to get a console before them.

I pre-ordered mine 2 days after the february reveal. I would be the one to "Make a show of them" if someone who only pre-ordered 5 weeks ago, goes into the store and demands the console ahead of me. That is selfish and stupid.

When I preordered in Smyths earlier I also tried to put my name down for a blue controller. The guy behind the counter had no idea what it was and said I wouldn't need to reserve it. Is he right?

they probably don't have the blue controller on there stock list yet, I would say you will be safe enough to get one when it comes out though

As far as I know it's in-store. No idea if you'll get it before Christmas though. I'm in the same boat as you and was told that there were loads of people before me.
