Is this a big job to fix? Do I need a plumber?

If not, where do I begin - I know nothing about plumbing!

It's a straight forward job but you would need to have some idea of what your doing or be handy with DIY.
If your not confident get a plumber.

Ballcock may only be blocked with dirt.

Penderb's video is a good one but I'd be worried about the nut & olive connecting the supply to the ball valve. Woodies omg!

sullzz video what can I say "lmao" must put it on my website.

You could lift off the lid of the cistern and check if the ball cock OR float is stuck in the up position.
The ball cock is the long arm with an Orange ball on the end and the float is a square like grey plastic box normally in the middle of the cistern.
