Not strictly true that the 16 since were all converted. I remember Michael Owen missing against Chelsea in 2003 in the league at Anfield. Put it wide when we were 1-0 down.

For some reason the ref said that Cudicini was off his line and allowed a re-take though!

I think it means opposition penalties.

Liverpool have got way more than 16 penalties at Anfield in the last 14 years.

Maybe if people showed a bit of discretion in what they post up, some of the stuff posted is about as reliable as a goal.com piece. I wouldn't take a quote from here and post it on twitter so I don't see the need to do the reverse, particularly if it's some 17 year old wannabe. It's hard enough to tell what journalists are reasonably reliable without twitter garbage. There must be dozens of posts per minute on twitter about Willian, I don't see why that one is more quotable than most others.

    This.

Weekly world news is more reliable than some of the stuff posted here

But I thought we are buying Eriksen, its been reported we're signing him so much I assume we are buying him in parts like a Mega Zord.

Or building a scale model of the Marie Celeste. In 112 easy parts.

Aaahhhh. Now that makes way more sense.

I was thinking 16 pens in 14 seasons was a bit on the low side.

It was obvious he meant 16 away team penalty's at anfield. This is painful!

Can we not just ban stuff from Twitter being posted in here unless it's actually a verified player or the club posting.

Seriously, the amount of Twitter ****e in these threads gives me a headache.

Quote for "yes", like for "no"!

Mark Clattenberg is reffing our game against Villa next weekend. Didn't THAT loss at home to Viaal last season come directly after their 7-0 game vs Chelsea last season? Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself again this year, despite the different venue. I'm already sh1tting myself thinking about Benteke at our defence again.

Sorry! I didn't think it was obvious. I'm not too bright.

Yep that's what I thought too.

Surprising stat overall given this little fact about Villarreal in 2004-05:
Reina was noted for saving seven penalties out of the nine Villareal conceded in the season.

Thought he'd be a monster for Liverpool for Penos.

Move over, Babelcopter, here comes the Willian Jet!

*WARNING* pic is from twitter so is probably just some cats taped together in a tractor or some other vicious lie.

I reckon there'll be a hat full of goals.

Should be capable of getting a result there if we have ambitions of top 4. A win would be fantastic especially with Utd up after them

It could well be a high scoring game as our defence still looks very vulnerable, and we try to attack at pace now.

I can certainly see us scoring but also conceding.

    I'll say 2-2 or we might sneak a 3-2.

Honestly with Liverpool, I could see anything from a 4-0 defeat to a 6-0 win, and anything in between. Hedging my bets there possibly. I will stick my neck out though and say we will not concede more than 4 or score more than 6. You heard it here first folks.

The Villa game worries me. They're a pretty good counter attacking team, and our defense doesn't fill me with confidence. If we're as wasteful in front of goal as usual, it could be a bad day.

Watching SLY Sports, "Spurs have moved ahead of Liverpool to buy Willian" - cue mumbling words from AVB which indicate no such thing.

Rumours of Southampton signing Osvaldo are wide of the mark, it was actually Jonny Depp.....

That is a level of vagueness that would make the Twitteratti proud!!

Sounds like there's a queue or something. Ayre went for a píss and Levy stole his place.

Still waiting for Ince to make his senior debut for us after Macca confirmed that he had signed during the January transfer window.

If he doesn't run around the pitch like Jack Sparrow I am going to be severely disappointed.

Just as I got into the ground on Saturday, Suarez walked within a few feet of me with his kid and I was pretty impassive, but 5 mins later I saw Zaf Iqbal from the same distance and I was nearly giddy with excitement.

Just googled his name and was looking through google images of him and came across this gem. WTF are they at?
