Nah, you wouldn't like it on a track, no traffic lights to spot. :p

I can spot them on the way. :D

I'd have something else to drive on the track anyway.

I think it's only a nice thought at the minute.

    :D

40 drivers assured to have a track day.
That's a tough figure to achieve especially with other commitments, myself included.
Remember how many were going karting and then half couldn't make it, me included.
It will be tough to achieve in fairness :(

You could pay a deposit to the organizer via paypal to confirm your place. ;)

That was because the date didn't suit half the people if not more who said they couldn't.
To get 40 it'd need to be a good bit in the future 2-3 months time as it has a better chance of people not having something in their schedule so they can make room for it.
It also gives people time to save up to allow them to go.

Yeah possibly a winter hours day which are cheaper. I agree with it being that far ahead as it can be well organised.

    ** also not the organiser :) **

    Definitely not organiser.
I think someone with lots of track experience should organise it.
I wouldn't have a clue about organising one.

Maybe in return everyone pays an extra 2 quid so that they get reduced entry.

To organise for 40 is a lot of hassle afterall.

That doesn't really resolve the issue though. They won't confirm the track until you pay all the money. Few people will pay all the money up front to someone they hardly know on the internet.

So someone has to bite the bullet and hope that all the people that say they will pay, will. The guys at Mondello mentioned this very problem at the track day training.

Do we need our own specific track day though?
Is there an open track day that say 10 or 12 could attend instead?

Reasons not to drive with an open window #4

People driving past you with really powerful windscreen washer jets. ****ing OW. Right in the eyes.

If people are serious about it they shouldn't have an issue with paying up front. The best man ti organise it would be Gary ITR with all his track / racing experience. Gary's been around here for donkeys and a lot of lads already know him personally. I certainly wouldn't have an issue paying Gary up front and he already said he would start a separate thread on it so has kinda volunteered himself already. ;)

That said there's no way in hell we'll get 40 to go, especially on (I presume) a weekday.

Lads need a bit of help, does anyone know a reputable mechanic in wexford who could come take a gawk at a motor with me?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,146 ✭✭✭✭Alanstrainor

And just back from my first spin up stocking lane, such a great bloody car! The brakes are noticeably better of the rear discs and pads.

Also, there's a new pipercross filter. Quite happy with it, bit throatier at high revs. :D

Didnt realise my car was so silent until this morning when at the barrier of the car park there was a guy who was fixing the barrier and i asked him nicely to move a little and he jumped with the fright, never saw or heard the car behind him, very funny at that hour of the morning :D

My current car is far too quiet, people always walking in front of it and not hearing it, never had this problem with the FTO, everyone heard that car coming and as so was a very safe car to drive. I had an MR2 beside me today and it sounded so good, missed the V6 in the FTO.
