I never even thought of this until The Irish Times pointed it out

If they don't eat they'll starve to death?

    Doesn't sound intelligent to me.

Well they don't seem to regard humans as too intelligent to eat, so...

there are too many creatures out there to worry about - how are we to measure their intelligence anyway? An I Q test?

If they're that smart, they would have developed anti-human weapons to stop folks snacking on them.

seems I've made a arse of the poll - pardon the pun. But I didn't intend for everyone to be able to vote for all options.

    They taste like Crap anyway
I don't know, why don't we put them on an episoide of University Challenge and find out?

I voted for all cause I'm schizophrenic, to change it now would deny my rights.

I dunno - but some people aren't too smart in preparing them, serving octopus while alive... and numerous people die to suffocation from the suckers getting stuck in their throat...

I draw the line at eating something that has the ability to read. But, if octopus are so bleedin' clever how come he's locked up in a pond in bray. :pac:

This one here claims an octopus can untie knots and tame sharks http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/animals/blogs/clever-octopus-tames-shark-unties-knots

    Useful skills.........

Well therein lies your problem. You have answered your own question... there are no octupuses in any colleges, as they are not intelligent enough. Don't give me low socio-economical opportunities either ffs, they went to school just like all the other fish.

if we base what we eat on their intelligence levels, then there are a few on my facebook news feed I should invite around for dinner.

    Good for it.

Pigs are smarter than dogs, but I don't see any campaigns to get us to stop eating them (except by veggies and vegans, and that's only because they're delirious from lack of pork).

difficult to say really isn't it. Some dogs seem pretty clever and most of us don't eat dogs.
Has there been any scientific study into the intelligence of animals/creatures? Perhaps we should eat only from the lower end of such a study

I was talkin to an octopus the other day and he told me that the arrow of time is nothing but the law of entropy working on scales and events greater than the quantum, but if you were to take an individual photon of light, entropy does not apply as you can't say that an individual photon is in a state of higher or lower order depending on where it is.

Individual quantum particles do not experience the arrow of time, and this is the reason why some of the more bizzare quantum effects have been observed. Because quantum particles can travel in both directions through time, they can appear to take every possible path at the same 'time'. If you block the path of a photon at point x, this immediately affects where the photon travelled through at point x-1

I dunno if this was actually clever, or if he was just talking bullsh1t

    Ban billionaires

The campaign to remove them from our diet was highlighted recently when an American family killed and ate an octopus, while holidaying in Greece, only to discover later it was a rare six-limbed “hexapus”, and only the second one ever recorded.

    Merica...
