New or 2Nd hand Mtb bike

Hi, I've recently had a Mtb stolen on me which I used the odd time but not loads. I'm looking to replace it with a hard tail Bike in the 900 -1200 Mark. Do you think it'd be better off going 2Nd hand rather than new to get a better speced bike. Even €800 would get a decent one. Any thoughts? D

TBH, there are so many good deals out there on used mountain bikes it's at least worth a look. Have you seen THIS? Well spec'd and well priced! Tempted by it myself
