Im not going to give up total hope but I thought it was pie in the sky getting him anyway for where we currently are.

if the club dont get him its not there fault we have moved for MK and Costa already this summer so the ambition is there for a top signing.

Fingers crossed he would be a cracking signing. Suarez, Studge, Coutinho and Willian....oh my!:D

I'm sorry to say that spurs seem a far more attractive prospect than us these days.
Yes we both don't have champions league football but lets face it they were very close the last 2 years to getting it and I would say we are still far short of challenging for it.
And if you compare what both us and them have done so far in the transfer market it is quite clear who have improved there squad the most so far in this window.

Its a sad time of the times but just where we are right now!

Ha, we couldn't even convince a former Rodger's player in Sigurdsson to sign for us over them. (Wages or however they did it, they still got the player) Tottenham who already have a decent draw in AVB for players still went out and hired Baldini as technical director to get deals like this done.

It's a shame John Henry isn't involved with the day to day running of the club more. He comes across as quite an impressive man, the kind of leadership he showed during the Suarez saga is the kind of steel we could do with at the club in a full time capacity.

We just didn't have the squad last year and not this year, despite improving it since January. Let the squad get their games in the Cups, add to it over the next year and then we can give it a good go, without damaging league chances, plus there's a CL place to go for.

I wonder whether the players that regard AVB as being the better manager just think so in order to have a dig are Rodgers too?

For somebody critical of the standard of some posts on this thread, you aren't slow at the ould digs youself. Sorry, but reading your posts recently, I just felt it had to be pointed out, bit of a long playing record at this stage.

Did we not pull out of the Siggy deal, not him choosing spurs over us, because Rodgers felt he wasn't worth the wages he was looking for?

That's the way I remember it and thought fair play to him.

Wonder does a posters position on certain topics come into play?

How about you address the point? 3 out of 3 signings that we appear to have gone up against spurs have ended up signings for them. Willian could be 4 in just 12 months.

To be fair, there's was about 10 pages on Raif's capitalisation a few weeks back. It's brought up every now and again, which is slightly more irritating than the actual topic.

It was more that I felt you thought his name was Solgado not Soldado, it was very pedantic I know.

Dislike the fact that I am doing it myself but given it is the tact employed by a very vocal group of posters here, it is, in my view, one of the only options left really. I opted to barely post on this thread in the past year as the quality of poster worsened but some of the stuff in recent weeks has really annoyed me.

Have a go at people talking complete shift by all means. This ganging up on posters that have been here for 7/8 years and are making points that they take time to back up needs to stop.

I do love sounding like a spa too.
