I've applied for campus but I was just wondering what are the chances of actually getting it? considering its totally random.
And I haven't started househunting yet because like I said I'm counting on campus, If I don;t get campus what would you say is my best move? do the college have links to off campus accomm?
oh and to all of you who are going to NUIM alone this sept , I'm the same and I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones, making friends won't be hard at all

yeah we don't know until the offers I think

When did you apply for it? I applied about just over a week ago so prob wont get it seeing as it was open last November

I applied for it round about May or so but it makes no difference when you apply don;t worry , its all done on a random basis not first come first serve. So if you were to apply the day before the deadline you'd have as much chance as somebody who applied the day it opened :P ,

I wouldn't know about chances I'm afraid. I think it was easy enough when I was in first year but, then again, that was in the ancient days of 2009.
The accommodation dept do have a housing list that will help those looking for houses. They'll try their best not to leave anyone stranded!0 -

I was in the exact same position last year when i started, i was counting on on campus but didnt get it. Found a place the same day and loved it and all the people there and am going back this year. You will find a place if you dont get on campus dont worry and its still real easy to make friends. Dosent matter how old you are, some of the best mates i made last year were in older years or even mature students.
PS i was 39 or somthing on the waiting list for on campus and was called a while after i sorted out my accomodation to see if i needed it, and ive heard of people further down the list being called. They are very helpful in the office at maynooth and they wont let you be stuck 0 -
