    My original post was based on the fact that Gerrard will play. If he plays and he should, then Allen / Lucas won't t work.

    Fantastic game. Lots of pros and cons. Not a great scoreline, considering the chances but it was Begovic keeping them in it. Mignolet kept it for us.

    Some of the closing down and ball retention today was pretty immense...it really started to lapse towards the end though.

    Still only about 80% there. Stand by assessment that we could scrape top 4 if things go in out favour - as they did this evening with that penalty save. Still a little too shaky at the back for my liking.

    Great to get 3 points from the opening game of the season.
