Disagree with this fundamentally, it's just that with Gerrard in there sitting deep as well there is a) not enough space for either Allen or Gerrard to do their work deeper down the pitch and b) an onus on Allen to attack when attacking isn't his forte (Though he does play the occasional good game there - Sunderland, Zenit, that pre-season game where he scored).

My original post was based on the fact that Gerrard will play. If he plays and he should, then Allen / Lucas won't t work.

Still only about 80% there. Stand by assessment that we could scrape top 4 if things go in out favour - as they did this evening with that penalty save. Still a little too shaky at the back for my liking.
