Why are we even talking about Ozil? Might aswell talk about Iniesta or Xavi...

Not really, they haven't been linked to us and Ozil has (well, Xavi nearly signed for us years ago)

A few places have mentioned it though. Madrid may well want Bale and mightn't have the money for him. ESPN say Utd contacted Madrid about Modric or Ozil. One of these could well be sold.

We are talking about Mesut Ozil because the latest talk, gossip and rumours are that Real Madrid have offered him to us.

Have a peek at the title of the thread there.

Now, I don't believe it, but I'm going to talk about it.

I really don't like the "We don't need Ozil, we have Kagawa!" line.

Look, I'm one of Shinji's biggest fans, I think he is a star, but jesus, Mesut Ozil is legitimately one of the most talented players in the world, and if he were to come in we would rejoice as he wins us game after game. Why can't Shinji and Ozil play in the same team? Cheslea have Hazard, Oscar and Mata, all similar players who interchange to great effect, but they had nobody consistent in front of them (I think Lukaku is their man now tbh). If we were to fit Kagawa, Rooney and Ozil behind Robin Van Persie??? Are you ****ing ****ting me? That is the most absolutely petrifying attack around (that doesnt have Ronaldo or Messi in it) and would **** the goals in game after game. If we are offered Mesut Ozil, one of Real Madrid and Germany's very best players, we absolutely bite their stupid hands off.

I just think it's more journo bull****. It's too common at this stage. X have been offered Y, X are interested in Y, these guys are trying to sell papers. Sometimes they get a genuine tip about something that is about to go down, but if they let out how rare that is, they would have a tough time selling their warez in papers and websites. That's why we so nearly got Thiago, just a few contract details... Oh no wait, we never actually made an offer to Bayern.

I believe absolutely nothing anymore. If it turns out to be true, wow, shocker, now I'll think about it and deal with it. But I am so absolutely sick of reading absolute dross containing guesswork as to who we are trying to sign that I'm prepared to say **** it, I'm getting Carrick 16 on my home shirt, not waiting for a new signing, and if someone holds a shirt up in front of the red bricks at Old Trafford I'll welcome them with open arms... And a few open tabs of xtube if it's someone of the calibre of Mesut ****ing Ozil.

I agree with you when you criticise people who say they would hate to see Ozil or a player of his ilk at the club. I remember getting ridiculously excited when David Gill had apparently traveled to Craven Cottage to meet with Werder Bremen officials when they were playing a Europa League qualifier against Fulham.

But I think what a lot of people mean is they hate the idea that the funds meant for the type of midfielder we actually need are going to be blown on a type of player that isn't near priority number 1 and not necessarily that they hate Ozil.

To be fair Mikey, most of the people who said we don't need Ozil went on to say that we need to sign a CM first, which is true. We could have the best attacking lineup in the world but not having a top class midfielder to partner Carrick would lead to us being overrun in every game.

I'd be absolutely ecstatic if we signed Ozil if there was a guarantee that a CM would also be signed.

I was properly gutted when Real signed him. I got all giddy over the Fulham stuff.

Twice I said I don't think it's true. Still don't like seeing people turn their nose up as Ozil.

I see what your saying, I get that. But honestly, I think if we were to sign Ozil, and fail to find the right CM, we would still be a significantly better side than we are now. So good that players like Cesc would be all like:

    tumblr_m14yu4f6Wb1r03ib4o1_500.jpg

And if Moyes doesn't like any of the CM's within our reach, and we get the chance for a big player somewhere else, we've got to bring them in anyway, regardless of that hole beside Carrick.

Hopefully some player Ronaldo wants to play with are signed...I am sure United have been linked with all the players Ronaldo likes playing with at RM including di Maria.
btw did you see the pictures of Ronaldo's legs and the veins sticking out, looked

    People go crazy over Osman.

    People then disregard Ozil.

    I don't understand.

None of Rooney, Ozil or Kagawa are as good as Nani when playing out wide. I'd take Nani in that fantasy line up in one of the wide positions over those three any day. And it's reasonable to think that Zaha has a good chance of developing into a world class winger too. So why not just stick with Nani, Kagawa, Rooney, Zaha, Welbeck, Young, Valencia, Januzaj, etc? That's more than enough talent for three starting positions. The point is, if we were to go buying players like Ozil when we don't actually need them then the young players like Zaha and Adnan wouldn't get a fair chance to develop and the world class players we already have, like Nani, would get pushed out.

Look what happened with Chicharito last year. Most fans were saying that RvP absolutely had to be bought if he was available. He was bought and he did great. And Chico didn't get enough game time as a result, that's a bad thing. The same type of thing would happen if Ozil was bought now.

I admit that Nani slipped my mind. If he was to get back to the start of 11/12 form then he rotates in with one of those 3. However, if he were to continue as he did last season (I don't think he will, but he could) then that's not an issue.

I still think Ozil is too big a player to turn down. I know it would impact time for the likes of Zaha, Young, Welbeck, Adnan and even Chich but a player as good as him is worth it. Someone like Willian, I don't think it's worth it.

As for Chicharito, RVP did have to bought, I don't think we would win the league without him. And if you offer me Ozil having as big an impact as he did with the sacrifice of minutes for Zaha et al, I'd take it. We need to be competing for the Champions League this season, Ozil helps us immediately, which in turns gives David Moyes a better chance of early success to ease the inevitable pressure on him. While giving more gametime to Zaha and Adnan (who I love) could be great in the long run, it might make Moyes job a bit tougher.

I like your points though, and it certainly is an interesting conundrum... If it's not a steaming pile of bull****. :pac:

Upgraded to Sky Sports (had downgraded for the Summer). Find out Liverpool game isn't on Sky. Fail.

Sky Sports 1 is free today on Sky channel 121 (normally Sky2).

No streams needed for the game for Sky customers who don't have SkySports sub.

Not too many options on the wing this weekend so I reckon he'll start.

Probably not the right place to ask this, but I think it is the best seeing as ye guys should know.
Where's the best place/site to buy the official jersey for kids(1 yr old and 2 yr old) with name/number printing.
I've tried 3 times to buy them in different bricks and mortar stores and each time they couldn't do the printing (either missing a number or missing letters or more likely in my opinion just didn't want to do it) So I have given up on shopping locally and keeping my money in the local economy and just need to buy these jerseys now (birthday presents), so wheres the best place to buy them.
As I said officially licenced jerseys, not the cheap knock offs.
    Thanks
    Dace
