guy ended up ripping me and all the other teachers off - me for 6 weeks of work. One of the other teachers went in to the "school" the other day and found a sheriffs order stating that he owes 85 grand in unpaid taxes. Apparently all the staff left and the sign in front of the school is gone and it's shutting down.

Is there any point in pursuing this now? Will I ever see the money?

If I should pursue it...how do I do it? Citizens Info said small claims but it says nothing about debts from employers on the page...and also, if the business is closing v. soon what address do I use?? :/ Have emails from him inferring that money is owed.

ugh, what a mess - and I need the money!...any help/ advice appreciated.

(also, apologies if this goes in wrong thread. still figuring the site out)

Not sure why citizens information said small claims court, that's for consumer disputes. What you need to do is make a complaint to the Rights Commissioner for non-payment of wages.

Were you an employee or a contractor?

Believe it or not you can make a claim to the Social Welfare under the Insolvency and Redundancy scheme.

It depends on what exactly happened and how you were employed. Time limits exist so it depends on when this started and when you get your claim in.
