I seen Alberto Del Rio wearing a Real Madrid tracksuit on Smackdown in January, is he signing for them?

How much have we brought in this summer in player sales ? Id say its a decent amount

    Carroll 17
    Shelvey 6
    Spearing 1.75
    Downing 5.8
    Total----32m approx

The loan deal for Reina frees up some cash and brings in a fee but we don't know the terms AFAIK.

Barrett says its on, Willian has started following Coutinho and Lucas (what more proof do we need) on twitter and at this stage I will gladly retract what I said yesterday about it not going to happen :D

Luis, Coutinho, Aspas, Gerrard, Sterling, Sturridge and this guy

F*&% that would be serious attacking talent :) More stepovers than Ronaldo

I know we took big hits on a couple of those players but thats a decent amount of cash coming in plus adding the wages saving from those players

BBC Radio 4 have been serialising Red or Dead for the Book At Bedtime you can listen to the first four 15m chunks HERE the final part is on the page from tomorrow.

Would urge anyone who's a Liverpool fan to give this a listen or to read the book. He's a fantastic writer penning a book about a subject which should be close to every Liverpool fan's heart. I started reading it last night and already can't put it down.

Is the Siqueira deal totally dead? What happened, couldn't agree a fee?

Am I the only person who has NO interest in signing Willian ?

If Willian is signed does it mean he's 3.5 times better a player than Coutinho? I think not*! :p

Apparently Granada trebled the original asking price.

Any particular reasons why? I've seen very little of him but I've wanted us to move Coutinho into the centre. In that regards we're looking for someone to play on the left of a front three. He seems about as a good as we could attract in that regard while also being able to fill a few other positions if necessary. I can see the negatives in that questions need to be asked about any footballers motives who ends up at Anzhi.

Id say we left a take it or leave it offer on the table for Sequeira and went back for Cissokho. I read Granada dramatically increased the price claiming Real were in for him. Id like to think a final offer was left before we walked out to call their bluff as it were.

I'll be shocked if we pay £30m for him. What sort of sell on fee will FSG get from that?

Loved The Damned United, but the extract on Amazon put me off. I know I couldn't do 700 pages of this...
In their house in Huddersfield. In their kitchen at the table. Bill ate and Bill talked. Firing out his words, wolfing down his tea. Bill ate and Bill talked. But Ness said nothing, Ness ate nothing. Ness put down her knife and her fork on her plate. And Ness got up from the table.
Bill frowned. And Bill said, You’ve not finished your tea, love.
Ness picked up the plate and walked over to the bin. Ness pushed the meat and the vegetables off the plate and into the bin.
Bill shook his head. And Bill said, What a waste.
Ness walked over to the sink. Ness put the plug in the sink. Ness turned on the taps. Ness put her plate, her knife and her fork on top of the pans in the sink. Ness squeezed washing-up liquid into the sink. Ness turned off the taps. Ness picked up the scrubbing brush. Ness began to wash the plate and the pans. The knife and the fork.

If he puts in the kind of performances he has for Anzhi and Shaktar he would easily double that fee

Its definitely closer to King Crimson than One Direction.

I'd prefer to see Sterling or Ibe get a chance or even Borini and spend that cash on a CB.

While Ilike Barrett and think he has reliable sources at the club, I don't think he's in a position to know how negotiations are going. The only party who can say what's 'close' are Anzhi, surely, as they are the ones who know what price they'll sell at.

To put this into perspective, Barrett and others claimed the club were 'close to agreeing a deal' for Sequeira as well. I saw that phrase used for 3 days in a row on that deal. As it turns out, we were nowhere near what Granada wanted in the end. They held all the cards, and so do Anzhi.
