Yeah, in fairness, this Tyrone team is a shadow of the 2008 team so if Mayo win they won't have been tested :D

I just keep thinking back to the league game where Tyrone frustrated the hell out of us although are attacks were pedestrian that day in comparison to level we've seen this year going forward.

Had a look at dontfouls blog and he hasp a stats report on that game. As I remember we did boss the midfield and primary ball. So if we have similar numbers and put even 70-80% of the attacking form on Sunday week, Mayo should still win comfortably enough. Not gonna be the most free flowing game though I'd say

IIRC we were missing Dillon, Moran and coc so that was always gonna make a difference to the end product

Gormley got a 1 match ban for Tyrone tonight. Tyrone to appeal it though, so we have to wait and see.

Surely there's no possibility that the appeal will be successful? One never knows with the GAA.

Mayo by 4-5 points for me. The cynical fouling that Tyrone were able to get away with against Division 2 standard teams such as Meath and Monaghan will not be able to get them past a Mayo side who will pose a real attacking threat for 60%-70% of the game (I think O Shea has the ability and class to outfield and outrun Cavanagh for most of the game).

Mayo will not wilt in the crucial period of the games where Monaghan did and if it is a tight affair the best forwards and midfield should do enough to ge their team over the line which I believe Mayo have.

Its also Mayos third year on the road with Horan which should be the year in which they reach the final and get the job done.I don't believe this strategy of stopping the other team playing will pay off for Tyrone but more a case of damage limitation.

Embarrassing stuff from Tyrone. Looks like the work of Mickey Harte to me. Possibly the second opposing management setup in a row v Mayo to completely lose the plot in the run up to the game.

Fact: Tyrone have been fouled 280 times in League (156) and Championship (124) football this year

Fact: Tyrone have fouled the opposition 256 times in League (144) and Championship (112) football this year

Fact: Tyrone have been fouled '10% more-fouled-than-they-foul' in 2013

Fact: Sean Cavanagh has 'shipped' one foul-in-every-six made by opposing teams on Tyrone this year

Fact: This is all completely meaningless ballology unless you also provide the comparitive stats for other counties and other players.

Fact: I'd be willing to bet my grannies left testicle that there is no other county out there that has fouled the opposition 256 times this year.

Fact - The Mayo football team have gained 20kg of muscle

Fact - Many of these players grew up on or near beef farms

Fact - 112 farmers in Ireland have been caught using Angel dust on beef farms

This could get like Cam Brady in the film The Campaign with the Al Queda beard campaign Although Tyrone already did the beard thing

Still can't see us being beaten although his presence will certainly strengthen Tyrone. If its a dry day I'd stake my life on a Mayo win.

It wasn't Harte, it was Jerome Quinn (a journalist), don't know what he was thinking but I don't think he's part of the Tyrone county board or anything like that. Still stupid though.

Jerome Quinn was at the press confrenance who was handed the sheet along with all the other journalists. It was him that put it up on Twitter alright.

Initial rumor was dispelled as he came through an A vs B game on Sunday I think. But again this Morning I've heard that he sat out training last night. Hopefully just a precaution if there is even any truth in it.
Mayogaablog.com is where I seen the initial one

Barry Moran was All-Star calibur last year. The AOS rumours sound very much like the usual BS that circles the week before a big game but even if it were true Mayo are still superior to Tyrone in the middle.

Sean Cavanagh really isn't a great midfielder, but he is a great player. He's more of an 11 playing out of position in the middle.

Weren't there also rumours before QF v Donegal that Aidan O' Shea was injured with the hamstring? He didn't look too bad that day, but having said that a hamstring problem can be more difficult to shake than other injuries.

On friday of last week a local media man had it that it was a quad muscle. By Sat AoS will be losing a leg:D

There's always a rumour of an injury or two a few days before a big game. No surprise it was O'Shea given he's in terrific form.

The team will be announced tomorrow night I presume. No changes would be fine by me.
