The pasta dish in the Talbot is really pretty good, changes every night but they have it down to a tee. However it is always vegetarian, so possibly not ideal.

I hate to disagree with EVERYONE on nourishment for cycling but I will be looking for a big steak, some spuds and lots of veg on Saturday night. Chicken pasta yuck.

I did specifically say 'delicious pasta' :)...

In wexford town, The Yard is a nice restaurant. If you like Thai food The Vine is exceptional. If you head out of town in a southerly direction there are some other great restaurants. One looks like a really dismal bar/lounge but I cannot remember its name, will post it when I remember but it has exceptional food, it is on the right as you head out the N25 to Rosslare. Afer that, if you feel upto a drive, The Lobster Pot out at Our Ladys Island is phenomenal but it is n't cheap.

On a beer note, for anyone interested, my favourite bar is SUAS, it is above another bar (called the sky and the ground). Lots of different beers from across the world with a focus on Belgium beers.

Suas is a great pub, run by an old schoolmate of mine, but I also highly recommend Simon's Place. The proprietor Simon Lambert is a good racer himself. It's a quieter spot than Sky/Suas.

I meant to ask the same, are you providing numbers or do we bring our own?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,009 ✭✭✭Plastik

Seems clear from a few posts above that we're just using the numbers that will be provided tomorrow. Assigned numbers so we know the running order for the TT as soon as possible today would be great though. The start is 5 but if you're at the back of the A2/A3 it could be after 7pm before you're on the road, and much later again for A4 presumably.

What's the weather forecast like for Wexford at the weekend? I'm willing to pay extra if for guaranteed sunshine.

I'd hang on to your few quid . I think it's to be a bit showery on sat but not too bad . Dry on Sunday . As usual it depends on which website you get the forecast from . If I was to look harder I'm sure I could find a forecast of snow with a chance of some miner earthquakes.

Hopefully that means I can do the TT in the dark with nobody looking.

Very bright and sunny today, the heavy rain has passed. Rain radar is looking fairly clear. Brief showers only tomorrow I'd say.

Wait, the A1s have the longest (along with A2/3) race, presumably ridden the fastest, and have least time for recovery before the TT? Whereas the A4s are doing 22km less, and have more recovery time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,009 ✭✭✭Plastik

Well, you want less recovery for the TT or less for the 115km stage on Sunday, Buffy!? I know I'd rather be done early and not have to wait until much later to be properly fed.

Nah, TT's much more of a balls out effort than a race. Sunday you could warm up on the road, and get into it.
