I'm off on study leave, and from reading your posts, you sound like you have more done than me.

    You are going well.

anybody look at redbarn brewery in last yrs paper.

NPV of JV has tax in before applying DCF and NPV of License has tax in after DCF applied!!

i'm thinking both should be as the former. agreed?

are you mad??! no need - SFMA at a push.

i assume by core you are only referring to man acc and fin? maybe a glance - i think everything is in that green book!

There is more than enough in the cases provided, the mocks and the past papers.
Know the mauual, know where the models are and be able to apply it to the case on the day and that'll be fine.

Does anyone have any up to date country info or business cases . People are saying transfer pricing is a big area over the apple situation. Is there any other big events that could be on it !!

ya i know what you mean and the sections are all over the place like for example part of the competency 4.1 is in chapter 1, another part in chapter 5 which is really annoying. I find the lectures from session 5-8 seem a blur, it those areas i seemed not to be tuned into at all!

Same, I had to use the lecture slides and start making my own notes from the book, everything's just too over the place!

Google, Amazon and Starbucks also got a grilling on the transfer pricing issue - quite interesting reads, though I don't think we'd be expected to go into much detail, just show a basic awareness that it's a current issue

Same, I'm going to spend all day tomorrow on the elective, I've neglected it for too long!

Not many cases done, only the class examples and not all of them at that. I've done a few questions from the green book (not the really waffley ones, I lose concentration). Definitely going to start on the past papers tomorrow, think that'll be the way to go on this one. How are you getting on?

how was the actual past paper compared to the samples? was it pretty much the same level or a bit easier than sample papers?

lol dont we all, I really should be more motivated than this but it's still so hard to get into gear! I'd have been stressing out this time last year, but just don't have the energy!

Good luck with the old MABF papers, let me know if they'dbe any use?

Going through this year's mock right now, didn't think to adjust the exchange rates for interest the first time around so at least that's one thing learned

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭Dmac_Aca12

There more revision of the foundation behind some of the APM really .. There making me feel better if nothing else lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭kb6536

Yeah I should have rethought my choice of elective as finance was my worst subject lol but the thought of doing audit or tax was just horrible!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭Dmac_Aca12

Audit elective is seriously painful take it from someone who know s ha !! It's even too boring to read the elective book . Plus so many do it it makes the standard harder. Hoping becoz the pass rate went down a lot last year in APM that the paper might be a little easier .

Nope don't think so! Need to obviously for the core

I'm not doing the core ( done it last year) changed elective this year hated audit..

But it's proving to be more of a hindrance than a help. Becoz I'm not really sure what I need to know from the core for the elective and there are only 30 cases going around for elective
