Sure most of the office workers in this country spend their day on Boards.

There's this guy named Milton who freaks out when you take his red stapler, he once threatened to burn down the building I think he actually may do it.

It's similar to regular work, only you'd be in an office I'd imagine

"office work" covers pretty much 90% of professions. Do you think designers and engineers work from their bedrooms? Scope for Imagination and initiative depends entirely on the job.

It has a complex hop aroma with notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, marmalade and peach.

    Wait, that's my beer.

Designing and engineering is working in an office rather than office work which is self obvious to most people without being pedantic about it.

    People who work in offices are . . . . . .

If you peer through the glass down at the Dole Office you'll get to see how they get on down in the back office.

My friend works in an office. I keep telling him to watch Office Space but he wont. I think he's scared that he will hand in his resignation the day after.

    Jesus

Clarify what you mean by office work then, cos I haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Administration is lovely. Only today, I was rustling up some A1 admin work and my boss told me what a bang up job I was doing. He then gave me another pile of administration to do.

Well it'd completely depend on the type of place you work.

Be prepared to hear phrases like "touch base" and "going forward" thrown about like nobody's business.

What's your preferred route of administration?

Usually I start on the left (that's my strong foot). Once I have kicked a few admin shapes in the left wall, I have lunch (chicken roll from spar with extra roll).

After lunch, I tackle the right hand side, and usually I polish off the ceiling before I cycle home on my bicycle.

Today, my administration rate was 34% which is terrible for a Monday.

You could be fainting from the heat on a hot day and the wimmins would murder you if you dare open a window or touch the air conditioning. They're always moaning about the cold

I checked the thermometer one day and it was 31 degrees in the office

    Ridiculous

I'm not sure what I do can be called Administration work. There's a bit of variety to my job but working in an office is awful. And I'd imagine it's the same no matter what the profession. Co-workers voices and faces start to annoy you. You constantly hear stupid metaphors being used when not really applicable or required. You can't pick your neighbors usually. If you have to sit next to somebody who is constantly complaining, it will start to make you more negative, yourself. I also seem to work even more long days then I did when I worked in retail.

I've worked in 2 offices, in which there was no natural light coming into the place. I would get in when it's dark out and leave when it's dark out. A lot of days, I never saw day light.

Maybe look at some typical admin jobs and see if there are opportunities for initiative and imagination.

    1. Secretary.
I would say not much, and even if there was, it wouldn't pay any differently.

    2. Filing clerk.
    No and no.

    3. Office Manager.
Not much in the way of imagination and initiative required, except in the first months when they arrive with new ideas and the energy to implement them, just before the soul-crushing dullness of the job either turns them into inapproachable grumps or the happy go lucky, coffee-swilling, social butterflies of the office. No work done in either case.

Dies anyone actually know the reason why women prefer warmer temperatures in an office?
