Just noticed this morning, that Sky News has now moved it's time and DOG etc to the corners, so it's the same as the HD channel

Hopefully BBC News will do the same

thats actually fairly decent news for me as its about my most watched channel. Unbelievably its available on my cable network in Germany with most adverts substituted by small news articles for the international market.

heres what it used to look like before the change just for reference.

I only noticed that with their breaking news being on the one line rather than squeezed up into two.

The biggest change though is that during sports bulletins it now takes on the look of Sky Sports News, imitating it so perfectly that only the presence of the Sky News DOG and ticker (and ommission of SSN's time/date) distinguishes the two. That will confuse some casual viewers I reckon!

This is bad news for the thousands of public places using this channel on old 4:3 screens.

Any progress is to be welcomed though.

UPC changed the ratio on their analogue version of Sky News yesterday to 16:9

Setanta Ireland is also now 16:9 on UPC analogue
