So I have been training MMA for nearly a year now.

In about a month ill be going to Limerick for college (hopefully) and really want to continue training and staying active in MMA if not get more active..

And really my question is what is the best location to train in Limerick?

What places train the most a week? And do they give out belts(jiu-jitsu)? And what kind of jiu-jitsu(gi no gi) etc? Sparring sessions etc? What would be the age range of students?

Any help would be appropriated alot.

    Thanks everyone!

Couldn't tell you the ins and outs of their timetables but Pankration and Sharkbait (Shark Tank? Can't keep track of the name changes) are the two places that do MMA in Limerick. Neither specialise in BJJ but Limerick BJJ Academy are very good if you're interested in the gi end of things.

Have you trained in any of them? :) Which would you think is "known" to be better!

Haven't trained MMA in either Pankration or Sharkbait apart from dropping in for the odd seminar so I couldn't say :)

For BJJ, Fergal at Limerick BJJ Academy is the best in the west, no question (black belt, medalled at the Euros in Rome recently, pleasant fellow).

The head coaches of all 3 places are a friendly bunch so no harm dropping them a message or trying out some sessions and seeing where you like.

I really want to do both if possible like go to both Sharkbait MMA and also go to Limerick BJJ Academy but I'm sure the timetables will clash.

Anyway thanks for telling me what you know.Im sure when i go to Limerick ill have a training with them all and see what i like best!

Trained with both Ger (Sharkbait) and Fergal. Both are great guys, couldn't recommend them highly enough. A lot of the guys training in one place will also train in the other, so while you won't get a bjj belt with Ger, you can with Fergal.

I would defo recommend trying both places, and if you can get the timetables to work out for you, take regular classes with both
