As a bit of a timeline narrative, I was looking at 10 year old Volvo S60 2 years ago. They would go for about 3k. Too much for me, I bought a 10 year old Saab 9-5 for €1,350, which was a bargain at the time.

So now a 9 year old S60 sells for less than a grand!

Will this downward move on prices go on? Surely Ireland has the cheapest 10 year old cars in the world now?

Things like distributers and rear breaks were problematic on the micra.

First I've heard of that, but I'll take your word for it ;)

Get this sub a grand and it might be the last car you'll ever have to buy

No test means it doesn't belong in this thread. Read the rules! :p :pac:

As has been mentioned it's not really bangernomics but it is a brilliant fixerupper car. They are great cars and that one looks to be in good nick, well wear:)

Drove it this evening, as far as I can see there's nothing to stop it passing the test. I'll have it tested asap and we'll see how it goes but I'm quietly confident it'll pass or fail on something small

    €1200 is bangernomics.
Not when the car has no valid nct and needs work. I see the seller still managed to sell it though.

Scammer and a persistent stupid one.

I'd like to put up the mobile numbers, would a mod give me the go ahead? May save a proper interested punter :)

Can you PM me the scam in case it can't be posted. It just looks like a crappy ad to me

Basically the person advertising these cars is using pics stolen from different sites of different Carismas. The first one I copped had at least 6 different ads between donedeal and gumtree, each time with slightly different mileage and a different engine  advertised very cheaply with an NCT till Jan for sub €500 was too good to be true and it sure was!

Now the same person is using a pic from an ad from 2009 to advertise. Car advertised as a 1.3 with NCT and tax.... Actually is a 1.6, current circumstances unknown.....

So whatever this idiots intentions are, they're not good

It's all been deleted and as it contained some sensitive posts for others I'm happy to leave it that way.

I don't think I'll be getting a Christmas card though from latinogar :D

Sweet! I'd be far more afraid of the box than of the tax :)

Then again, who cares about the box or anything else. What a car for the money!

Great colour on that. The gearboxes are reliable afaik. Doesnt seem to have any service history but if the seller let it go for 700, 3 months tax is 500. Can enjoy it for say 5 months and then scrap it. Cheap motoring in a v8.

I posted that in here around two weeks ago. Around the time of the alfa timing belt taking over the bangernomics forum.

I offered to buy it for the oul lad as a weekend car during the summer but he has no interest in it.

If you were to use it as a summer/weekend car then the tax doesn't make it to painful anyway.
If I was 25 and had somewhere to dry store it over winter I'd have bought it by now. :(

    Why would you scrap it?
That car deserves to be kept on the road no matter what.
