Terrible headline:

Car sales jump by 51% on introduction of new number plates

reality:

The CSO figures show overall new car sales for year was 58,809, down 9.7 per cent on the same period last year, suggesting the industry remained in the grip of recession.

no data for May or June in that article, not surprising since both were way down. There was a thread on this at the start of July someone in motors with all the figures.

How could that headline be pandering to the car industry?

I would have thought it would be of far more benefit to highlight the difficulties they are having.
