Maybe 10 to 15 thousand I would think. We are ****e to support. Although we might get a few in the bandwagon now.

I remember going to Clare in 1995 and no other County was gripped in such fever for a sport, literally every bale of silage in the county was painted Yellow and Blue that year. The entire county were gripped in hurling fever so I must really dispute that statement in bold above.

Probably going to pick up two Hill tickets, hopefully there'll be a good crowd on the terrace.

From the sounds of it the place will be very empty though.

Of all the places I go to hurling matches, Ennis is my favourite. There is always a real buzz around the town in Ennis. The match is a big big occasion for the town and you get a real sense of that.

Not many jobs around. 15 - 20k I'd say, max.

Already available on tickets.ie. They've been available for a while, think you could buy them before either team was known.

The hype down here in Limerick for the match is pretty unbelievable, I think we're all delighted we got Clare....atmosphere should be fantastic.

Doubt Croker will be full, but I expect a big crowd all the same. Bit optimistic to hope for 50,000?

First semi final in, what 7 years? Think it was against Kilkenny but they ran out comfortable winners. The year before that was the Cork bottle-job... comfortable lead half way through the second half and threw it away.

ardent clare supporter myself but have to say... limerick are rightly favs for this one.. clare will have to improve at least 20% more to live with this limerick team.. their hunger and power play is something to behold...the only thing in clares fav is that they will be the underdog... which we love...

There hasn't been a man born in Clare in years. I'm a Shannon man myself, was born in the Limerick maternity hospital although I'm sure the Mother popped me out just as we were flying past Bunratty before the border on the way to the maternity hospital. :pac:

I'm a Clare man through and through though, but I am absolutely delighted that either Limerick or Clare will be in the final. That's just wonderful for the region - and badly needed lads.

Three Munster teams in the final four as well. Hopefully a sign of things to come for Munster hurling.

I haven't been this happy with regards to Clare hurling in years. If this is as far as we go then so be it. Either way, it has been a great season what with avoiding relegation and getting to the semi final.

We have a bright future, and our lads are hungry. Hopefully getting this far will urge them on in the coming years as well. They'll want to be here again.

I hope they don't have that attitude. All four teams left have a genuine chance of winning the All-Ireland. Wide open. The team with enough ambition to actually believe it's their year may just do it.

I'm simply saying if this was as far as we get then they've nothing to be ashamed about, and it'll give them that bit of experience and they'll want to be there again.

We do need to improve a bit in defense to beat Limerick.

Remember 2002, when Waterford won their first Munster in years?
County went mad, but had a good few weeks waiting for the semi final.

Clare came through the back door (if I recall beating Laois, Wexford & Galway - omen?!), and wrecked Waterford's fun.

Could we do a repeat job this time on Limerick?

And lose final then ???? :D

Apart from briefly tuning out and almost letting Galway back into yesterday, Clare were really excellent. I thought that was their best performance so far this year.

Galway weren't great, and missed somwe easy frees, but all in all I'm pretty happy today!

I'd agree with clare having poor support. Look at the cork game and they only had a drive of an hour Max to limerick with trains from Ennis and they brought a crap crowd. Ever since they won the all Ireland's their support dwindled a fair bit. I've heard plenty Limerick lads saying they thought Clare had some of the best supporters for years in the 70s 80s and 90s. Clare will bring about 12 to 15k to the semi I'd say. Limerick will bring about 20k I'd think. Will be a great occasion

35,000 would be a pretty poor crowd for the all-ireland semi, I think there'll be more than that.

The match against Tipp in 09 had around 45k.....surely we'd expect at least that? The hype in Limerick now is waaaay bigger than in 09, and I dunno, I'd expect Clare to turn out for a big game in Croke Park against Limerick...with a real chance of qualifying for the final.

They were making a very good point on Second Captains today:

All ye Clare fans blame Davy Fitzgerald for everything with this team. So much so that it takes the pressure off the young players on the team. For example, if a player is coming out and handpasses the ball and thus loses the ball, ye blame Davy's style of play rather than blame the player for the poor handpass.

I think there could be some truth in that. One of your backs caused a Galway goal by a poor handpass and I havent seen anyone mention that mistake on here!

    Where'd you hear that?..
wouuld imagine the hill would be busy enough for this one

I think too much is made of Davy's "antics",the guy is a progressive young manager.. And as for people going to the game I think Clare has suffered hugely when it comes to emigration especially amongst young males, the average attendees at games..I know every county has suffered but the Clare Champion has reported on clubs losing 30 fellas or more due to the economic situation.. Attendance will be somewhere between 40-50k I'd say

I'd say this game will attract a fair few neutrals....

Also, I'd say a decent Dublin crowd might go to 'size up the opposition', if they beat Cork.

On the hype....how does it compare to the 2007 hurling final?

I live in Dublin and try to go to the hurling final each year. I usually go down to Croker on the day and buy a ticket outside the ground. Of all the years I've been going, the Kilkenny Limerick final was the easiest to get tickets, lads couldnt give them away that day.....

Hard to say, I mean after the whole 3 games against Tipp, and particularly after causing an upset against Waterford, the whole county was on a high. But at the same time, I don't think many fancied our chances in the final against KK.

So maybe this semi-final isn't on the same level as the final, simply because that was a final, and it had been so long since we'd been there... but we're playing Clare, everyone knows a lot of Clare people, we'd be traditional rivals, it should be a great game.

I do think this year's Munster final was a lot more hyped than 2007, and if we get to the final, I think it will be crazy... simply because we'll believe we can win it.

So the Munster U21 hurling final on tomorrow night, Tipp v Clare in Thurles.

Would be a great boost ahead of the big one v Limerick in the seniors, and hopefully not too much of a distraction.

Great win for the lads last night. Beating Tipp in Thurles was no mean feat but they showed typical skill and verve and look good now going into the Galway game. The winners of that should go all the way.

The ref was very poor last night though, silly soft frees given all night. Seadna Morey could have walked too.
