Cork to Killarney - how to avoid traffic in macroom..

So i will hit macroom at about 5 tomorrow..

i believe that there is a turn off somewhere that takes you to the bridge at the other end of the town - anyone know the directions?

basically i wanna avoid the bottle neck..

PS not originally for Cork but live in the city,.

From what I remember it is this road here:

Just ignore the B and continue on that road. It brings you out just on the other side of the bridge.

TBH, the "traffic" is not that bad. You might be held up 15 minutes at worst. Sometimes that turn off will have just as many cars.

sometimes you will be waiting a long to get back out from that junction in the town, but imo it is faster than going through the town, esp at that time.

I've latley started useing the cork-mallow-kilarney road. Way better route.

yeah I often have to be in Killarney or Tralee for 9 / 9.30 and have much less traffic hassle traveling via mallow

Drove back Killarney to Cork earlier and had forgotten how bad parts of the route are, Had some brutal drivers ahead of me in an Almera and a Sunny and as we got onto the Ballincollig Dual Carriageway they actually drove on the overtaking lane still doing 70/80K !!! How ignorant was that ? We had all to undertake the clowns..

Ignorant is possibly the wrong word, idiotic more like. I am convinced that any idiots who drive like this and are caught should be forced to do a driving test, before they are allowed drive again.
