    Strange,
There's usually a comment about Pal gets by now....
    Very odd....

Looks great though, will you find time to play it?

Got a psp 1003 for a fiver in a charity shop today.
Sound doesn't seem to work but the sound works with headphones.

Is there much work in fixing it?

Well if it can't be modded with sticky tape and bluetack I wouldn't be able to do it

PAL Snes and Megadrive collecting FTW!. Nicest English box art and cart design I think. All my systems are 60hz modded so that's not an issue.

Definitely will find time to play it :) I finished Fire Emblem the other day so am looking for something else to sink my teeth into. Think I'll stick out Secret of Evermore, so will move onto this after.

After that I'm thinking Snes Shadowrun or else the English translation of Secret of Mana 2.

I know games like that are hard to find time for, but I've been sticking to one at a time now and am actually managing to get through them, it's great!

I only collect CIB games when they come in clamshells. Nintendo can go **** themselves with their cardboard.

Couldn't get into Secret of Evermore myself, pity.

    And yeah, duckin' cardboard!

Yeah Secret of Evermore has all the makings so far of mediocrity. Kind of a nice looking game in parts and the music/atmosphere isn't too shabby, but feels like it was made by novices.

Retr0 reckons it's good and I can see a glimmer of something there, so will do my best to stick it out!

Sure he hates Sunset Riders, so it's probably trousers. Let us know if it picks up though, as I never got very far into it.

Humbug I tells ya, humbug. Though I do agree re Megadrive collecting, something so cheap & flimsy about Genesis carts!

Agreed, I like the cardboard boxes, but they don't wear well at all.

Indeed, a bargain to be sure. I think I only paid €20 or something for the US version, it's really not expensive

I love the nes and snes boxes, I prefer them to the megadrive cases. They are harder to keep in good condition, but you can get those protective cases for them now which are brilliant.

If Snes cases were as they are, but somehow plastic, they'd be amazing. Aesthetically they are really lovely, some of the best.

However, the fact that they're cardboard relegates them to the 'not interested' pile for me. Life is too short to worry about preserving cardboard!

I was at a market today, not much retro bits.
But I did see a box full of random chargers so I spent a few minutes looking through it.

So I managed to get a Mega Drive psu for a quid.
Always handy to have a spare or 3.

After literally years of keeping an eye out, I found a good condition box only auction for a PAL LTTP! Finally means I have a complete version of the game.

On a side note, I know I was going on about hating cardboard boxes - this is a nostalgic exception to the rule :pac:

That and Super Metroid, must have cardboard boxes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,622 ✭✭✭✭OwaynOTT

Cardboard boxes for some, plastic cases for others.

The Rage had a box and manual for Super Metroid, a couple of months ago, looking for €30 and I almost picked it up.
Really regret not getting it now, the manual is quite integral to the game itself.

Getting decent boxed snes games is a pain alright, I ordered a few protective cases there a week or two ago but they still haven't arrived yet!

I got a boxed set of the dkc trilogy from the states recently all complete for 60$ which was a good deal I thought. I got a few other boxed ones like zelda and terranigma and a few more common titles.

I think I'm gonna go down down the route of buying those plastic cases and printing out artwork. I'd much prefer that than stacks of 8 carts on top of each other like I do at home, doesn't show off the games at all

I don't think super evermore is much good tbh... Lovely graphics but parts of the game are ridiculous to figure out, forgettable soundtrack too, if you could call it one. The weapon level up system is really flawed aswell, the dialogue is annoying too. Come to think of it, I don't like that game at all

Ah get out of here. You could make a good argument for the game not being good but that jeremy soule soundtrack is superb!

Must give it another go, alot of areas there's no music at all

Well he did do all the ambient sounds for those areas as well which I think he did a very good job of. It was a very unique thing for a 16-bit game to not have music there.

I agree the game has a unique feel to it alright, whether that's a good thing I don't know. People have split opinions on it
