Want to get back into Snes collecting, have been neglecting it for far too long.

Have most of the usual stuff, so on the lookout for some less common titles.

I was actually trying to get my hands on Shadowrun and randomly came across this ending on ebay.ie in less than 2 minutes. Had to bid on it as it was going for a nice price.

RGB for the GC arrived, tried it out, seems fine, difference doesn't appear as drastic as on other consoles though, for some reason, definitely rgb as it's activating and coming through on the Trinitrons RGB AV channel.
Just awaiting the Snes one now.

I might see about getting one for the DC, Saturn and the MD2 and the CDX.

Try the GC one in the SNES, it might work for you..

The composite on some consoles is actually ok, the CDi crappy and all as it is has a decent composite picture as does the 3DO

Just saw a challenging mod to add rgb to the 3DO.
Have a Google there EnterNow and see what a job like that might take.

Erased and then burned the only two roms I have with Battle Garegga zak versions as a test, left all settings on automatic and they work :p
Ordered a nice selection of eproms from Ebay sellers and can't wait to burn Traps Ketsui arrange rom version .

Must do that arrange mode, I have a programmer too  Eproms are hard to get hold off it seems apart from china or USA. I might erase the original Eprom or is that sacrilege?

Can you not find the eeproms on ebay? Seems to be full of them.

Yeah but mostly China and USA I might have one or 2 at home buried in my electronics box, are they the same eprom as in megadrive games?

Pain in the hole is what it is. Done my own one some time ago but don't recommend it unless you've a PAL only tv and NTSC 3DO and have no other option.
The PAL 3DO uses a different video encoder to the NTSC one and I've not been able to dig up the datasheets anywhere for it (same as CDi).
Datasheet for the NTSC encoder are available but don't match those RGB mods online so took a bit of trial and error - ridiculous furball of wires too to try and hide :D

Ok then, that's the 3DO rgb nixed!

Not much that'd improve the CDi video quality aside from petrol and a match.

There are no removable chips on the SH3 boards. There is a connector on the back that you might be able to flash the board.

Yeah no socketed eeproms on those boards unfortunately. (Definitely done on purpose)

I've never played Ibara black label. Just reading up on it now and it says when you can have multiple weapons and switch between. Sounds really interesting.

It's on the PS2 version of the game if you fancy giving it a go.

Just picked up my strange, display Famicom today.

    DSC_0353_zps040c07df.jpg

No holes cut for the ports, just black markings and hinges. I didn't realized it hinged open, thought it was just sitting on top. Kind of interesting as it would mean different molding.

Here's something strange, the P2 volume control slider doesn't work - but the plastic is moulded to stop it moving. There are also no holes punched for the speaker

You can see the eject mechanism working through the slot cut in the cartridge

    That Famicom thingy is fantastic!
    What to fill it with?
    Sweets!
    Specifically....
    Jelly Beans!

That's the NTSC version though using the VP536 encoder, PAL one has a BT9103 encoder and I've never been able to find a datasheet for it and way to lazy to probe it out.

Interesting mod, using a big ugly resistor DAC instead of a nice little QFP video encoder like a THS7134 or ADV7120. The install is nice though really neat and tidy.

And people say the N64 RGB mod is too much hassle :)

Exactly, 3DO over svideo is more than acceptable. The thing with the 3DO, is to get an ntsc 60Hz model :)

No probs erasing the originals if you make a backup first to burn them later again .
Eproms are about a Euro a piece with free shipping on Ebay from China or HK, just won a lot of 12 that where on auction for € 1,99 as no one bid on them but me .

    PS,

What's up with that Famicom ?, looks like a paper holder for on a desk in fami shape .

I got this today in xtravison. Only €5.99 and it's brand new and sealed. Also the one in nutgrove has the official GBA AC adaptors brand new for 70 cent. I already have one so I didn't get one but they have a few in stock.

Nice buy, although personally I think Super Monkey Ball stopped being a must have after the second one on the GC, but it's still fun on the 3DS.

Kinda suggest its for a PAL 3DO - but...whats on the 3DO thats worth doing the mod for? :) sure, didn't everything just get released on other consoles of the time?

DEFINITIVE editions of the original The Need For Speed, Road Rash, Star Control II, Return Fire and.... emm.... Wing Commander 3?

The mod board will definitely work on a pal console , its the install guide only shows the NTSC variant unless i missed it. Either way its not worth 55 to mod it :-)
