So if I'm going Sat and Sun, which I am, I need to decide which to try to get a number for - that sounds fine. But say I choose Sunday, how do I queue 'normally' for the pit on Saturday? Going by previous shows there'll be two-thirds of people in the pit without numbers, I want to queue for that (and so will every other 'Sunday' queuer). Will there be a seperate queue?

This is going to be confusing and difficult to manage, or am I missing something?

    Posted on GL also.

4 Wrecking ball tracks, how many are you expecting?

Hmmm. I suppose just queue for Saturday as normal, but if you're there very early, i.e., early enough to be offered a number, decline the offer of having your name down and just let others go ahead of you. I'm sure they've thought this out (well, I'd hope so), but you're not going to know for sure until you get there.

    best answer from GL:

in my understanding, if you queue early for Sunday you cannot attend the Saturday show (if you do, you will miss a few roll-calls and be struck off the list).

In your case, I would suggest queuing for Saturday and then, immediately after the Saturday show ends, line up to get a number for Sunday.

Most likely you will be ensured of a place in the pit for both nights.

It worked perfectly in Paris last year, for night two we had about 60-70 people on the list at the start of the first show. After the show ended we gave out numbers for about 1.5 hours up to +/- 500.

I dont understand the whole queuing thing with numbers? I have seen Bruce 6 times and every time I arrived 2-3 hours before the show and walked straight into the pit. Get to Kilkenny around 3 or 4 pm either day and you'll get in. You wont be at the top but then again only those who queue the night before will. There isn't a huge difference if your 2 metres or 20 metres away from the stage!

Fully appreciated, but for the die hards, there is.

Also, these are the last two gigs on this tour (so expect a couple of suprises!!)

Totally agree, I'm a die hard fan and I also think 20 meters from the stage is fine.

That's normally excellent advice but the problem with Kilkenny is that its a day festival and the gates open at 1pm,not 4 or 5 like a standalone gig.
Alot of buses/trains will be arriving in Kilkenny early in the day so the crowd could be at the venue early.
Alot depends on the weather too,if its raining GA ticket holders will probably delay going to the ground but if its a good day they may go early.

Perhaps people who have attended other festival gigs on the tour would have a better idea .

Something that is worth factoring in for Sunday is that Kilkenny play Cork at 2pm in the hurling, a lot of the locals wont head to the venue until after this game finishes on the TV.

Your right it could be a little different with it being a festival and support acts (which i expect Bruce to make a surprise appearance on stage with one of them!) I am going the two nights and my plan will be to head down around 1pm when gates open and i expect ill get into the pit then. The only thing is I am not sure how big Nowlan park is so we might not see the huge pit that would normally be in the RDS. Either way getting in or not its going to be a cracking gig and i cant wait! Going with a few friends who have never seen him live before. Cant wait to see the look of their faces! :D:D

The pit in Cork and Limerick was much smaller than the one in the RDS ,less than half the size I'd estimate.
The back of the pit was only ~30 yards from the stage.

Latest weather update for Kilkenny is 24 degrees of stone-splitting sunshine. Not a drop of rain to be seen anywhere. Mental stuff. Who knows what it'll be like on Saturday at this rate.

Would anyone be interested in swapping a sunday Bruce pitch ticket for a saturday pitch ticket. I could meet up in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre tomorrow Friday 25th? Ticket must be hard copy.

Its my first time ever going to Kilkenny and Nowlan Park. I've read the parking info but it means v little to me. Travelling home directly after the concert on Sunday.....not sure where to park, how early to get there etc. Will be coming from Clonmel side..Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I got covered stand tickets just now...v.v.excited!

It shouldn't make much difference where you park really. You'll be able to get onto the ring road from most car parks and then you'll be away off home. There isn't really any 'secret' place that will save you time.
