One of the boys on Radio Ulster says Cavan probably won't win an All-Ireland!

This year or ever? Because this year would be quite obvious even to the most diehard Cavan supporter, but ever would be quite a big statement particularly with the underage work going on.

It doesn't get much better than this lads (although it might yet) - All the ****e and misery and boloxology since 97 is almost worth it - they were magnificent again - heart and sheer bloody mindedness won this one.

If I had a cow I wouldn't milk it for a week after that :D. Can't wait already for next day be it London or Mayo..

Yep. Had his first year with the U21s this year. I think he's only out of minor.

Lemlin, I'll slag u in the other thread, but congratulate you in this one. :)

Good win, that is a hard place to get a win, looking good for the quarters now.
Was young McEnroe playing tonight? and is he a son of Bart McEnroe from Oldcastle?

This is as good as an All Ireland at this stage! What was his reasoning?

He didn't give one. I suppose you don't need to give one for a statement like that. If they win the All-Ireland it will be the greatest achievement ever!

I might of misunderstood you earlier. Was he being sarcastic about this year or was he saying this group of players don't have it in them for the future?

He tweeted earlier and said he's not the first man to get a prediction wrong!

I'd say he's got some abuse today.

Well I think it was that Cavan aren't going to win the All-Ireland this year. Don't know about the future. I suppose one swallow doesn't make a summer.

If it was anyone but London I'd love to see Cavan in the AIQFs. If/when you get there it should be a fantastic day to be in Croke Park.

In fairness, his tweet wasn't half as bad as Brolly's calling us the Black Death... Hope today wiped that smug look right off his face.

Maybe so. However, Paul Grimley got a kick up the hole this evening and Joe will love that after he had the audacity to take him on after beating the heavyweights of Wicklow or Leitrim or whoever is was.

In fairness to Joe he tweeted on a couple of occasions that Cavan were the better team and that it was a very entertaining game, although he did say "against all odds" it was an entertaining game!

Needs to be somewhere relatively equidistant from Cavan and London.

The New Oval, home of Holyhead Hotspur? ;)

What did he mean by "against all odds" it was an entertaining game. Both Cavan and Derry have some very good footballers and have been involved in entertaining matches already this summer.

I remember the RTE panel before both the Derry Down match and the Cork Kerry match predicting very dour matches an they both tuirned out to be really enjoyable games, sometimes i thunk they hope the games are bad

Joe had referred to Cavan last week as football's equivalent of the "Black Death".

He doesn't like the way we play football. Although I think it's more of yet another RTE GAA pundit trying to be controversial and get some attention.

Bloody brilliant, haven't been glued to a radio as much in years. They deserve a run like this, taking down Armagh and Derry is no mean feat.

Absolutely fantastic, pure balls and guts, something we haven't seen in a long time. Each and everyone of them was emmense but Martin Reilly in particular deserves a mention. When he wasn't kicking scores he was doing serious work, blocking, tackling, driving forward. He covered every blade over the 90+ minutes, serious performance from a man who has had his critics. That 50 yard free was the winning of the game, 3 points was a great lead to carry into half time.

Great to see McKeever playing well, he had a great impact, very wise head to be bring of the bench. Real indication of the spirit within the camp to see men like that coming on with such determination.

repeat of the Cavan v Derry game is being shown after the Ulster Final on Premier sports UK (formerly Setanta Sports)

it seems to be the only place the game is being re-shown. I presume it'l be edited a little cos of the extra time.

Happy for Monaghan. Also suggests Cavan are nearer to where we want them to be than we thought given we pushed Monaghan far closer than Donegal did. Don't care what anybody says about Ulster football, all the puke football comments, Ulster is the most competitive province in the country and the only one where consistently 5 or 6 teams in any given year could win.
