samsung galaxy s3 texts!

my samsung galaxy s3 keeps saying i have a new message when i dont. over the messaging icon there is a 1 as if i have one new text message but when i click in there is no message... awful annoying. ive tturned the phone off and on and its still there... ive clicked into all my message conversations and still it stays…

Is there a setting in the messaging app to mark all messages as read? Look for something like that and see if it works

sms backup and restore - do that first, then use the option to delete all message threads. That should do the trick I'd say, you can't have a new message if there are no messages on the phone!
