What you need is a piece of string and two tin cans, makes it very hard for the NSA to tap.

I hear if you put a status up on facebook saying that nobody is allowed to use your personal info you'll be safe. The status automatically block the signal and they delete the 5TBs they have on you.

That was a particularly amusing period.

No kebabs for them, they prefer curry chips. Search youtube for videos on turning curry chip trays into pentagrams/pyramids/all seeing eyes.
The truth is out there man!

The problem with AH is the danger that people might not take it seriously. Granted, its been balanced and thoughtful thus far, but what happens when the messers spot the thread?
    Ludicrous post, Please ignore completely.
There are NO messrs on AH.

Some of those new headphones are so powerful they could induce a partial frontal lobotomy.
This can be prevented by wearing them inside out. Lets the rays out.

Ah. I see the first of the messers has arrived. OP, from now on you'd best take any advice given by 'newcomers' with a pinch of salt. And some tinfoil.

Just make sure you don't get headset head, OP. My xbox playing son has a depression in his skull where the headset sits. Bloody things.

Headset head? I blame the parents. Giving their poor child a head that's too big for standard headphones.

    It's a bloody disgrace Joe!

That's what they want you to think

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/11/11/tinfoil_hats_as_government_plot/
Wearing a tinfoil hat to deflect government mind-control radio waves is even more foolish than most people think. According to several (apparent) students from MIT who tested several hat designs, there was "a 30 db amplification at 2.6 Ghz and a 20 db amplification at 1.2 Ghz, regardless of the position of the antenna on the cranium."

The students note that "the helmets amplify frequency bands that coincide with those allocated to the US government between 1.2 Ghz and 1.4 Ghz. According to the FCC, These bands are supposedly reserved for 'radio location' (ie, GPS), and other communications with satellites."

The only unsafe thing about headphones is their tendency to not quite fit into the jack a lot of the time, so while you're blaring porn it's actually coming out of the speakers instead.

I image it'd be very embarrassing if it happened to somebody.. especially with family in the next room

    >_>

A lot of people in here making light of your question, but it wasn't too long ago that people scoffed at the idea of the US government spying on everyone.

Imagine if as your folks were up in bed you wanted to watch some porn, put on headphones, did the biz, then fell asleep naked up against the tv with the headphones on. Imagine!

Difference is when our government tries to go near technology it becomes a mess. They would have a dell hooked up to a 500GB external hard drive for the country and then lose the hard drive

Bit of an over-generalisation, it's been common knowledge that the US (and other governments) have been using very pervasive surveillance .. it's just we didn't know the exact juicy details until recently.

The loon brigade love it, because it validates their paranoia that the government is somehow spying on them personally - often not noticing that none of these leaks back any or all of the whacky conspiracies and inside jobs they believe in

Funny you should ask! I actually have researched treatments to optimise the protective qualities of tinfoil, and am in a position to offer it for €100 a roll. Pm me to place your order.

I'm also working on a special peanut butter recipe. Details to follow...
