Are headphones with mic safe? I bought one today and my friend says that they have antenna in the earpiece - Is this True?

Maybe if it's a wireless headphone, then the antenna would be a requirement (except for IR, do they still make those?)

Better put a tinfoil hat on the mic too, just to be safe.

They have microphones in the earpieces to hear your brainwaves.

Maybe my friend means the antenna are in the earpiece in wireless headphones.

Lot of stupid comments here after a very reasonable question.

What you need OP, are a pair of tinfoil headphones. With a tinfoil mike.

Just scream abuse at people sounding like a 12 year old, anyone listening in will just assume you play Call of Duty.

I've heard the NSA can get around the tinfoil hat, so I would be extra careful about what you say when wearing them.

OP - please vaccinate you kids. It doesn't cause autism.

It just seems like the kind of thing I ought to tell you.

Only because people aren't aware that the tinfoil isn't activated unless its lined with peanut butter.

    Crunchy. Not smooth.

There must be a set of tinfoil antennae though for maximum deflection of gamma rays. Everyone knows that.

Oh absolutely. Curly ones are best.

Maybe this should be moved to another forum? Just so the people who need to know would know, y'know!

Is purchasing tin foil in my local supermarket a safe thing to do? Wont the super market have a record of my purchase, then?

Where can I get my hands on some back-market tin foil?

I think AH gets the most penetration. Just like the OP will get from the aliens if he doesn't wear the appropriate protection.

    They're perfectly safe op.

    Just don't plug them in.

Move it to every forum - everyone needs to know. The mods can bring the thread on a trip through each forum.

    On a serious note:

OP, you're more likely to accidentally asphyxiate yourself (in a highly comical manner involving a revolving chair) with the cable than cause damage with the non-existent antenna. Get off www.panicattacks.com and enjoy some Battlefield or Youtube or whatever it is you bought them for.

Buy kebabs, some establishments rap them in tin foil, pay in cash, use a disguise, watch for the cameras, enjoy kebaby goodness while rapping your noggin.

The problem with AH is the danger that people might not take it seriously. Granted, its been balanced and thoughtful thus far, but what happens when the messers spot the thread?

For some reason I'm not able to adequately thank your post multiple times to express my delight at your highly humours, laughing inducing post - are my mouse clicks being intercepted??

OH GOD NO DONT DO THAT!

The gamma rays will melt it and then you'll have a plastic head.

Theoretically yes, but practically I'm afraid not. You'd need about 38 miles of the stuff. You'd look like a small plastic planet on legs.

I hear if you put a status up on facebook saying that nobody is allowed to use your personal info you'll be safe. The status automatically block the signal and they delete the 5TBs they have on you.
