One week we have calls about people paying gargantuan fees and rates to the council, and then the next week the calls are "Oh the council don't have the money".

What does the council be doing with the money?

Paying the mammoth expenses allowances of councillors, managers and mayors, mostly.

I told a young fella on the beach last weekend to take their beers bottles (which were left scattered around where they were sitting) with them as they were leaving. I was told to F-off and to stick the bottle up my ar*e.

And this is the generation we are meant to feel sorry for because of a lack of job opportunities etc.

As i get older, I have less and less patience for young people. Confronted with that situation I would have had to resist the urge to grab a bottle and the person who said that and attempt to do to him what he just suggested I do.

Is this before or after they leach all their chemicals into the ground water ? There's no at least about it, it's disgusting.
I was simply making the point that some things are more harmful than others...e.g. there is no harm throwing an apple butt into a hedge but there is plenty of harm throwing sweet wrappers or nappies into a hedge. People should understand the difference and not just have knee-jerk reactions because someone discards something. A little education would go a long way.

A vet friend of mine was complaining about the cost of vet medicine, funnily enough, so some items aren't cheap.
    edit.
Actually, it was the certification and high price slapped on to certain items, like surgical super-glue and other everyday objects that, if you're using the diy versions (sometimes identical) you can get a slap for.

Trust me, if it was my mates that were with me and not my small kids then that's exactly what would have happened.

This taking responsibility lark is all very well until some skull sticks a bottle in your face. We have a Garda force and a legal system that are not dealing with this or many other problems.
