How crude. I really am losing respect that I had for him recently, he seems to be getting very hysterical.

Fair enough. Actually I like the guy. Forgot about his health issues.

A quick glance over your limited post history shows that homophobia features in many of your comments. It is not tolerated here. When you return from your ban you should review your posting style.

Why does she sound muffled or something.

I don't think that style of language is appropriate to political debate and I think he should apologise.

But I agree with the basic sentiment of his comments. She comes across as embarrassingly thick. She should be mortified to admit such ignorance.

Have you a link for that. he was not that direct in his statement about his health. Do you know more, are you a spokesperson for him. Or publicity agent.

    The Regina monologues :pac::pac:

David Norris is a legend :D:pac:

When he appeared on Miriam O'Callaghan's chat show last week, he confirmed that his cancer was in the liver and inoperable.

What was Doherty saying? Because if she was talking a load of arse, then I fail to see why she'd be upset.

Yeh I lolled. And also at the way "fanny" is part of the Indo headline. :pac:

He was being damn aggressive though - as others have said, it wouldn't be accepted from a less "right-on" public figure. The "lap" thing was gombeenish carry-on in the Dáil chamber, but this was no less oafish just because it was said by an intellectual.

No better than the durty diatchribe that that mucky Joyce fella come out wih.

Very funny though, but I was wondering how it would sound coming from a straight member (ahem) of the senate about the same age. It wasn't, I know- it was Norris and that is different. But even still.

Entertaining all the same. I don't know what the "Ya, Ya, Devilled Kidneys on gur bread" anger from Norris was about. Don't care either.

Funny but wrong and for me funny beats wrong.

Norris is exactly the type of cringe inducing wind-bag that make the liberal left an easy target for conservative Ireland. What a clown!

Fianna Fail senator Mary White said Mr Bruton – Fine Gael’s director of elections for the upcoming referendum on the aboltion of the Seanad – was spreading Hitler-like propaganda.

That would be Goebbels like you stupid woman

in fairness he has a long political career behind him and has spent many a long day and night in the same room as some of our ministers and TDs.

So on that basis alone, I'd say possibly more than any leading gynaecologist on the island.

Good man SamHall. Possibly the wittiest comment so far this year. :D

I could hardly make out a word he was saying with all the screeching he was doing, he has nothing to complain about anyway, he got a lot of years earning handy money in that place.

The sooner we vote it out of existence the better.

Norris is an idiot, plain and simple. And an arrogant one at that. Remember the breathtaking arrogance from that letter he sent to Israel?!

How can he not know that those sort of childish and personal insults are not appropriate in a house of the Oireachtas?
And to think that he is arguing to maintain that house.

Why can't two people have different opinions on matter, without it descending into personal abuse. He's not getting paid 65,000 euro a year to abuse people. Well, at least he's not supposed to be anyways.

If he has health issues that are clouding his mind, then he should be on sick leave, rather than disrespecting the Oireachtas.

So was he being sexist or not. Whic was more offensive her "talking through her fanny" or her not seeing a wet day in the dail.

...sure maybe she like to arrive in work sober.

I like David Norris for the same reason i like Stephen Fry; both well spoken, well read, witty, urbane. But that is not justification enough to pay him a wage to sit in a defunct house and ponificate.
The fact that the money saved by the abolition of the Seanad would be spent on com-it-eees populated by jobs-for-the-boys gombeens makes a mockery of the whole exercise.

I think Regina should harden the **** up and not get upset over evey utterance to her anatomy however, I love the AH double standard. If it were Alan Shatter or the like that said that I can just imagine the 'outrage' but sure she is FG and he is left wing so all good so..
