Possibly 077 as it appeared to have the IE logo on the cab sides. Is there just the 2 of them out in the new colours?

As far as I know yeah just 071 and 077. 077 having all the logos. I don't know if 088 has come back out after repaint. 078 is in loco limbo.

071 is on tara duty this week.

077 is in the loop at Sallins with a single wagon(Possibly spoil). I guess this is the weekly wagon transfer from Limerick.

Here's one I just thought of while watching this video (even though it's the wrong sound set for a 111 :pac:). Why are/were the 071s so difficult to start?

A friend of mine once told me that they "ate several starter motors before ever turning a wheel in service" and that external power supplies were installed in some terminal stations to assist starting. Wikipedia also claims that the batteries were uprated. I'm not surprised that they were historically left running all the time.

Anyone know what the deal is with 085, always around inchicore and only moves in that area.

Is their a reason for it?

It's confined to the works for some mechanical reason. It's not permitted to work on the mainline.

It's been like that for a long time now.

081 is in the loop at Sallins on an IWT for Ballina

081 just left the loop after the line was cleared I noticed most of the engine access panels where opened. I presume this was done to help dissipate heat? Anyone know of any history of this or other reason for it? I felt for the poor driver too. Do the 071's have A/c in the cab the heat shimmers from the loco where unreal!

072 in Wexford station switched off. They're a bit eerie when stopped.

072 and that panel train just passed northbound through Pearse.

086 worked a Dublin Port IWT passing Sallins a few minutes ago.
An unidentified 071 worked the Ballina IWT earlier.

086 is sporting some green graffiti along on the front/side of her cab.

Is there and end considered the actual front? Or does it just depend which direction she's traveling?

What I think was 088 was in Limerick yesterday morning switched off. Couldn't tell for sure, but it was new livery and I'm 99% sure it was her. That EU number is hard to read when you're moving!

Definitely 088. Saw it with my own eyes while passing on the 16:20 Cork-Dublin today.
