An 071 just ran light through Sallins for Dublin possibly 074 on return from her day out in the sun!

085 at end of 4 tracks waiting for clearance, a lot more train movements into Heuston this afternoon that normal which has caused some congestion.

Is 085 back out then? That is news if so, it's been off the main line for a long time now.

Looks like it, the way the sun was shining on it you would think its just out of the paint shop. The current O71 colours should be kept.

I wonder was it on a test run an engine ran light through Sallins this morning and I only heard it then I saw an 071 run light in the opposite direction later but didn't catch the number. What was the problem keeping her in Inchicore?

076 operated light engine from Waterford to Kilkenny to allow RPSI owned 461 be turned at Lavistown Jct for return to Dublin Connolly.

Engines unable to turn in Kilkenny and 076 was used to shunt the coaches past the points at platform 2 to allow 416 get back onto the main line to do the turn at Lavistown. Of course all took place around the 12.40 Waterford-Heuston service which was running slightly behind schedule.

Gone for safety reasons, foot bridge not in use so passengers have to get across somehow. There will be one or tow more removals soon as I can't see them replacing points that are almost never used.

081 just hauled a rake of rail wagons (I think) through Sallins for Newbridge

083 worked a second Northwall-Ballina IWT liner & passed Kearneystown bridge (MP11 1/4) at 1415 having been held at Hazelhatch to allow the 1400 Heuston-Cork to overtake.

A second container train was run on the same day? The demand for the service must be increasing. ( Unless its normal to run two trains on the same day.)

Two in one day is normal for the past month or so. It's a good sign alright.

Any reason why the 201's seem to get the bulk of IWT work recently?

An 071 in new livery just ran light through Sallins for Newbridge but with the new numbering scheme it was impossible to tell which. I'm guessing it was 071 as 077 has been on Tara's for the past while.

Finally, that was a long stint on them from the 10th of April till now. I know it did a bit of HOBs work in Dundalk too. Now the fun part of trying to keep track of it now as it mixes with 071.

Forgive my ignorance but what is HOB work?

077 (Guess as 071 is reported to be on the Weed-spray train) just hauled another 071 through Sallins for Dublin

Odd, reports 2 weeks ago was that she was withdrawn for work to begin on it's overhaul, clearly not correct. Would have been a great snap to get, a slate grey and orange 071 together.

Your correct it couldn't of been 084 as it was in Black and Silver livery. Trying to squint and see the new numbers has obviously messed up my eye sight :o

When does it return to Portlaoise? I'm assuming it'll stay in Waterford tonight?
