Installing t-bar between carpet and laminate

I'm aware that a carpet end-cap is the recommended way to go between laminate flooring and carpet, but I had this installed recently and didn't like the way the carpet edge was visible, so I removed it and want to install a t-bar that overlaps the carpet and laminate in equal measure.

The laminate is 12mm with 5mm underlay, and the carpet + underlay comes to roughly same level, so height-difference isn't an issue.

The t-bar I'm looking at is 1.5" wide and I want the centre-point to run along the junction between carpet and laminate.

What's the best way to secure the t-bar on the carpet-side? Put some Tec-7 on the carpet?

You will have to lift the the Carpet and fix the T bar under it using either masonry nails or plugs and screws. This may also require the Carpet to be trimmed back a little to fit into the t Bar. If you let the Carpet sit over the T bar you can see how much it needs to be cut back if any. When in place you can then use a piece of wood the length of the t bar to Tap the top edge of the T bar to pinch the Carpet.

Fix the t-bar under the carpet? Is that a z-bar you are thinking of?

The t bar sits over the carpet. Also it has an adhesive built in, but i'm worried it may be loose on carpet side

Update: i've done a bit of research on this and it seems it can't really be done (properly) with a t-bar, so an overlapping z-bar might be my only option
