This happened during this morning's run!

Hare coursing greyhounds must have muzzles in Ireland, but in Spain bulls don't have horns cut.............why?

We should do that here, but use selected politicans and ex bankers to run in front of the bulls!

We do have a running of the bulls, it happens everyday when the TD's leave the Dáil after already inflicting some damage to innocent civilians.

They're adults making a conscious decision, well aware of the possible dangers of participating. It's a part of their culture, they should be allowed to do it.

Just wondering about the health and safety aspect, cruelty to the animals, how does the insurance liability work, etc?

Exactly. The Spanish have a knack for "crazy" cultural traditions. People get hurt running with the bulls and my favourite, the human pyramid, which also hurts many people each year.

leaving out the animal cruelty aspect, if they were to ban that then they would have to ban the other things that are far more dangerous.
the isle of man tt is first to come to mind.

And nobody wants to see the tt banned.

I am talking more about the aspect of danger in both events.

Experts or not, the TT is still the most dangerous racing event on the planet.

They shouldn't ban it, if I hadn't fúcked up my knee I'd have liked to do it. The Spanish, not telling them their business, should also tell the EU to fúck off if they do attempt to ban it. The EU is often subverted by interest groups.

    Should ban bull fighting.

Anyone that gets gored deserves it, it's a f**king barbaric event. Tradition or no tradition I think it should be banned, for the bulls welfare not humans.

Serves him right. Play with fire and your gonna get burned.
Animal cruelty for entertainment is simply wrong. And the fools saying it's their culture etc.. Well in some parts of the world it is their "culture" to punish women who are raped etc..., dose it negate the fact it is wrong because it is their culture? No it doesn't wrong is wrong.

The bull was a bit of a perv, no? Taking off the poor chaps trousers like that!

The bulls run through a street...I dont get the outraged animal cruelty aspect here. Also, the hope that people will get gored in the same post is a little out of whack if you really are outraged about cruelty.

Incase you didn't know these bulls run through the streets and straight into the arena where a bull fighting tournament takes places, they are all then brutally killed for the enjoyment of thousands of people watching and cheering.

Don't think it's out of whack at all to be honest, i think anyone supporting such a 'sport' deserves it.

Never said I hoped it would happen, just that I don't feel sorry for them.

You've obviously never been to san fermin. There are thousands of police in the city clearing the course every morning and making sure nobody who is intoxicated, too young, too small or with video cameras us on the course.

Don't care if they get hurt, they're only people and they choose to do it, it'd say differently if there were animals thrown in front of the bull just for "sport" because that's completely cruel.

People who choose to do it though? Couldn't give a f*ck about them.

I did not know that part. Always thought it was a nice run out for them! Ah well, consider that they will be murdered anyway, as livestock.

Killing something humanely to eat is not the same as torturing it to death for amusement.

we have a choice to go out in front of a bull, a hare has little choice against getting put in front of the greyhounds....

There are animal protection laws in place to kill livestock as painlessly and humanly as possible. I'd hardly think driving dozens of swords through the bull until it eventually dies in complete agony is comparable to them being "murdered anyway as livestock" because the way they die couldn't be more different.

What will happen? It will die? You're gonna die at some stage as well, should we torture you?
