Managed to get two of the stands for me and a buddy this morning in Limerick :-)

Bought the shoes - Should be grand for a spare pair.
Rucksacks - Very light will do until the next sale!
Socks - Cycling socks my first pair ever!
    Gilet for herself.

Lots of work stands left was pretty busy though.

Was in the headford road shop in Galway. Lots of people fighting for space, not talking to each other as usual. Managed to get the right size shoes though.

Wonder is the cycle stand as good as the Aldi one...missed out on that but will get this one if it's reliable.

Missed out on the Aldi one too, picked up the stand this morning and just put it together, very surprised at it tbh, was expecting something flimsy for the price but the thing is built rock solid. Very happy with it.

The size ten shoes were too small for me. Contrary to someone else on here's experience last time of the shoe sizes being on the large side.

I was looking for the jeresys in Cork (not the compression ones) but they didn't come in. Did anyone see them elsewhere?

Fantastic, at long last got myself a stand. Got it in Rathmines and there were about 4-5 left. Don't cycle up to get it like me though, tis a lot bigger and heavier than I thought...

The new Lidl in Artane must have had at least 20 stands as of 11 o'clock, barely touched. There was a fair crowd around the clothing though.

    Thanks :)

What time do you see them there? The better half was in there just before 9 and the staff told her they hadn't got a delivery of the cycling shirts.

Where's the Lidl in Togher. I only know the Aldi down towards Turner's Cross/Musgrave Park. (I'm based by The Lough.) Is there somewhere to lock your bike there?

Edit: Found it on Google Maps - Is there somewhere to lock a bike there?

They only work with SPD not SPD-SL.

Was just in Tyrrelstown on my lunch and they appear to have everything, including 20 stands.

Picked up one of the bags (seems good for the money) and a set of file tools , I need to file .4mm off a steerer tube race diameter!

There were loads there at around 8.30. Could say jersey on the label?

Plenty in the Pottery Road store at around 2 this afternoon.

Right so I'll give a quick review of the stuff I got.

Work stand: decent enough, good clamp. Cons however, the top tube still rotates in the clamp when you put force on the bike, the base is fairly wide and takes up a fair bit of room. Also some of the bolt threads were faulty, would not tighten and had to be replaced

The hand pump is brutal if you want to use it on presta valves, it comes with a cheap plastic adapter that just shoves into the pump and doesn't stay put.

The mini-tool looks alright, the hex keys are decent enough.

The jackets are nice and light with plenty of pockets, fairly breathable too.

I was in Lidl on the Rathbeale Rd, Swords earlier this afternoon. Loads of cycling stuff there including the workstands. It doesn't look like they'll be running out of stock any time soon.

Lots of everything except jerseys in the Grange Road Lidl opposite Marlay Park

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,020 ✭✭✭68 lost souls

I got one of each of the clothes basicly cause I wasnt sure how good they will all be, was undecuded between large and medium, was glad I went with medium. Couldn't find any medium shorts though so I got the longer ones. Wore the under tshirt for a 5km run tonight and it was good. The short sleeve undershirt seems rather warm in some spots could be good or bad. The jersey is nice maybe a little loose fitting. The gillet again is a little loose but nice. Felt the tools were ok but a little heavy.

It's right next door to you, then! See these Aldi uber-loyalists... :) There's space to lock bikes up next to the trolley bays in front of the store.

Had a quick look around (that very store). Was rather chucking-out-time-ish, so I didn't have a good look at the clothing. I noticed they had a tool saddlebag that was very similar to the one Aldi had in a while ago, the same thing in a firmer shell, and just the allen key/spanner tool thing, separately.

And of course... yet another, ever so slightly different wireless bike computer. Slightly more attractive than the previous one, not so blocky looking. Any danger that they actually work, though?

Rakes of jerseys down the road at the Nutgrove one this morning. Surprised to see how much of most stuff they had including a good few of the stands.

Don't think they had any in the offer - I had a look through the weekly brochure thingy and there wasn't any

Just back from Lidl Stillorgan and loads of everything left. At least 20 stands and all sizes in all the clothing. Good few pairs of shoes too but didn't check sizes.
