will our senior team be playing the other friendlys?

The 1st 2 friendlies will be more of the development squad players, best of u20s etc whilst some of the senior players get their pre season training going after holidays.

The final 2 in the german tour should see more of the regulars involved.

A woeful half of football but you could expect anything else given the circumstances.

Van Dijk looks decent despite the Celtic backline being a sieve.

Balde, lacking composure in front of goal but the service to him has been worse than terrible!

Mouyokolo doesnt look worth a contract yet, Van Dijk is as big as him and comfortable on the ball.

Watts looks like he wants to be somewhere else

Interesting interview with Fergus McCann at half time. He says some Celtic supporters borrowed money to buy shares and invest in the club back then, it never happened before or since with any other club he says.

Fell asleep in the 2nd half, very poor from Celtic from what I did see.

unlikely given the game was in Bavaria.. plus it might have reminded you of better times with the oldco like this one:

Fair enough, I guess its the Germans I should be feeling sorry for then.
Not sure how watching you lot get beaten by a lower reaching Ukrainian side would bring up memories of that game though?

I meant seeing the old foe..

its time celtic fans admitted it... we miss those guys since they are gone, we may claim we dont need them or there will be others but they made the game what it is today.

no not rangers, I mean larsson, sutton, Lambert, Petta, mcnamara, Petrov etc.

So Cardiff are out of the running for Wanyama. I cant wait to see the back of him and his agents tbh, just hope Celtic get what they are looking for him at this stage.

you're in a minority there id say. His agent seems a dick right enough but not much different from agents in general i suppose

I am with you there Coilte. His agent seems like a low life. I think I read he was on some agent blacklist in England a few years ago as well but not sure. But Wanyama would be great if he stayed at least one more season as far as I am concerned.

for me, there is question mark over wanyamas attitude going forward when his advisors are now so desperate to have their hands greased. id like to see him sold after the qualifiers, that would be ideal for me

judging any player on their first preseason match at their new club is foolish tbh. guesswork at its finest

I know it's pre season but giving up 5 to this crowd is embarassing.

not going to do the players confidence any good anyway

afaik, celtic have been doing double sessions and heavy physical training fot the last week or so. the performance was terrible and players gassed quickly but there are mitigating circumstances that I can accept and all that matters is that lennon and co get them to the required levels for competitive games. thats a timely reality check for alot of players imo

Record saying that Wanyama is off to Southampton for £12.5m:
    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/victor-wanyama-smashes-transfer-record-2041644
VICTOR WANYAMA is set to join Southampton over the next 48 hours in a £12.5million deal that smashes the Scottish transfer record.

Record Sport can reveal negotiations between Celtic and Saints have accelerated and the SPL champions have accepted the jaw-dropping bid.

Wanyama was due to play in Celtic’s 6-2 friendly defeat to German side Greuther Fruth last night but it’s understood he stayed at the team hotel in Berlin to help tie up his move to St Mary’s.

The deal blows away the previous transfer record of £11m that Spartak Moscow paid Celtic for Aiden McGeady in the summer of 2010.

Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino thought he’d landed the 22-year-old Kenyan for £12m but the club had to increase the offer after soaring interest from Cardiff City.

Parkhead powerbroker Peter Lawwell has all but concluded business with Saints chief Nicola Cortese and personal terms have been agreed with the player. All parties expect to be in a position to announce the deal by Friday at the latest.

Wanyama has told friends he expects to say his goodbyes to Neil Lennon and his team-mates later today at their German training camp. The Kenya skipper was bought for just £900,000 from Beerschot two years ago and his move is fantastic business for Celtic.

Hope they've identified another couple of signings now that they have a few bob to spend.

As for pre-season results, meh, not bothered by defeats tbh, but shipping six goals at this stage is a little bit worrying. Time to stop the experiments for the moment Neil and get the squad ready for next week. I'm more worried about the possible injury list we might have going into the first leg against Cliftonville.
