These jesus freaks are sad, brainwashed idiots. It's always going to end badly for them. If the gay people want to have a festival, then let them. Don't wander into the middle of it forcing your beliefs on them and expect nothing to happen. I think your man got off lightly. He should've had that sign shoved up his hole!

What's to say you've not been brainwashed?

Where is your evidence that they were looking for a confrontation?

    Errrrrrr...

They turned up at a Gay Pride march protesting against Homosexuality, the one day a year where their target audience is all in one spot to go and confront them and tell the they are all going to Hell and what they are doing is a abomination to God, and you ask for evidence......

No I don't think they "protested" they were just saying their opinion, hardly a protest. Please don't twist their opinions to demean people, just because they don't agree with homosexuality

    pro·test
    /ˈprōˌtest/
    Noun
A statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something.
    Verb
Express an objection to what someone has said or done: "she paid, and he didn't protest".
    Synonyms
noun. protestation - remonstrance - objection - outcry
verb. object - remonstrate - deprecate

Their message is that Homosexuality is an abomination to their God, and they also believe that all homosexuals are going to Hell, so how is that twisting words or trying to "demean people".

So? there are far worse like racism and fascism being spouted and they are allowed to speak, so why not them?

All the Christians are saying is homosexuality is wrong, what is so wrong about that?

Because it shows up the hyprocicy of their faith, their God preached Peace, Love, Understanding and forgiveness, they do the exact opposite.

*yawn* All they are doing is expressing their opinion, there was no provocation in the violence that caused the brawl. London has its protests about homosexuality, does that end in violence? No. So there is no provocation in the violence that ensued. People are entitled to their opinions, its a human right

As for the topic - Nobody has ever been able to give me an adequate explanation as to what God has to do with people's sexual orientation.

    Complete and utter crap.

Being "offended" is not a justification for violence.

What happened is that some dicks who happened to be Christians encountered some dicks who happened to be gay.

Lets not go looking to make something more out this.

I doubt anyone is justifying the violence, but come on, it's gay pride and I I've never been to one so I don't know what they're like exactly but I'm sure it's going to have people enjoying themselves and having maybe one too many drinks. This is **** stirring at it's best.

II imagine if a few gay people protested against this church on easter Sunday (assuming they're christian) calling them paedophile supporters there'd be a few incidents too.

It'd be worth considering that maybe the only people not directly involved in the entire incident were Gay people at the Pride event, except for videoing the violent attacks on the protesters and trying to cool things down. Certainly each of the three attackers were taking turns at restraining each other from attacking the protesters, something which seem's comical in hindsight, as it'd have been better if they'd just F-O'd home.

But the sad thing about this thread is that people ARE condoning violence. Turn up peacefully where you're not wanted and you deserve what you get is the message I'm picking up from some people.

Ok, the Christian guys from what can be seen in the video, aren't shouting or being intimidating particularly since there's only two of them. What your doing is called victim blaming, if the march for life people had got violent with the counter demonstrators would you excuse that because of they were sh*t stirring.

They are idiots (sign guys) but if it was any other situation where a large probably drunk baldy man was punching a protester that hadn't lifted a finger to him you wouldn't be saying that.

I dunno. I'm pretty sure most people would applaud seeing the Westboro loons getting a few slaps.

Except maybe when they are protesting a One Direction. That's God's work!

Well I wouldn't agree with condoning violence. The people who attacked the protesters deserved to be arrested. Still, when you antagonise such a large group of people you're playing with fire.
I doubt most religious people have much time for these extremists either to be honest, just as most gay people won't support violence in the given situation.
Perhaps lessons will be learned on both sides :)

All he is doing is expressing his opinion.

Stop attacking his freedom of speech!!!!!

I have the right to disagree with anyone I choose to, it isn't your right to enforce yourself by calling people 'bigots' because you or I don't agree with people. What would be the point of having freedom of speech if you enforced yourself, just because you get offended? I got offended by someone last week about Katie Hopkins who said she discriminated a person because of their name, but I didn't start calling her a bigot, there is no need for that

That has nothing to do with freedom of speech, its a way of enforcing oneself on another by silly name calling

If you throw the first punch you lost. You just show that you that you can't deal with the situation and your going to be arrested regardless of who you are.

That should be the case all the time. Christianity has nothing to do with violence

Top marks for trolling there, religious nutbags pushing all the right buttons as always.
Will it ever be acceptable for a guy to be gay in society?

I doubt it. yet, for girls it's the ultimate edgy fashion accessory.

I feel the opposite. I think male gays are portrayed a lot more in media/ television and idealised as loveable heroes like Gok Wan. Effeminate male homosexuality is the ultimate cuddly fashion accessory. Every girl needs a gay best friend.

Should people be able to say what they like without consequences? I don't think so.

Freedom to say what you like but there always should be consequences.

    I see.

So when Christians try and enforce themselves and their beliefs on gay people by name calling (sinner/deviant/damned/abomination etc) it's called freedom of speech.

But when somebody else does it to the Christians it's an outrageous attack of some variety.

    Makes sense
