UPC remote control is broke. Is there any universal remotes out there that i could get that would work or do i have to get one directly from UPC as they are charging me 30 euro to send me out a new remote

They refund you the €30 when you send back the broken remote.

Did your physically brake yours that they won't give you the €30 back?

    My eyes hurt! ;)

Any universal remote should work fine. Personally, even if I broke the remote control myself and had to pay the 30 euros to get a replacement instead, it's probably worth it. I'd rather have a genuine remote than buying a universal remote and fiddling with codes when you set it up and every time the batteries die.

Will they give back the 30 euro if the remote got wet - got put through washing machine (don't ask !!)

i picked myself up one of these One for All remote a few months ago and haven't looked back. The UPC remote is an unresponsive piece of garbage. Its totally hit and miss whether pressing a button actually has any effect. I had the One for All remote up and running in 5 minutes. It has a code that matches the UPC remote. the only button i had to manually setup was the DVR button and that only took a minute.
