    These kinda people annoy me

I came back from break in work today and was told my colleague mary was a bit upset.a few girls were all around her..i thought something right bad had happened

I asked one of the girls what was her buzz and the said she was upset over a death...turns out a friends mothers sister had died.....she only met the lady once

I was like wtf...she doesnt even know the lady..

I dont get it..i reckon she was looking for attension..maybe her period or something

Was i a bit harsh or on the ball

Bit harsh saying it might be her period, but in general I know what you mean. Deleted a friend off Facebook last night because I was sick of her drama queen attention seeking status updates.

and you've been failing ever since.

when starting a thread, it's disrespectful to have such poor spelling in the headline.

    you should be banned.

A mod has already told us to play nice..

I'd recommend you play nice too and apologise for not reading the warning..

I'd also make sure your apology is done in MS Paint.

A Picture is worth a 1000 words. That should cover it.

Personally I find your 'on her period' comment just pure w*nkerish but you're not the first and won't be the last stupid fool to make comments like that so I don't really let it bother me

in the same way if people's drama irritates you then don't participate. You clearly wanted in on the 'drama' initially when you asked what he's 'buzz' () was. It was only when you deemed her drama to be of an insufficient level of drama that you opted out.

Some people are very emotional and don't necessarily mean to be drama queens/kings but can't really help it, and there are people who love the attention, and there are people who hate unnecessary attention.

So its simple - if you're not interested in the drama, don't participate in it in the first place. It makes so much simpler that way.

It was kinda hard to avoid..small office.only way i could have avoided her was to go sit on the roof.

Ag well the removal should be Saturday and the funeral Sunday so she won't be skiving off work so it must be real.

people who dislike others so much for being attention seeking or dramatic are usualy resentful of not being the centre of attention themselves, who cares what others get up to if theyre not causing trouble?-if dont like her personality then move on and stop focusing on it otherwise are the one who people will start to see as having attention issues;resenting anyone else for being centre of attention-they wont see her as the problem.

Me too. Pity Boards.ie does not have an icon for the opposite of 'thanks' - that would save a a lot of time, maybe a thumbs down symbol.

Going back to the OP - people can get upset for very little reason - there might be an underlying cause and the incident OP referred to could have been the trigger.

So you couldn't have just gone back to your desk and got on with your work? It was a requirement imposed by the size of your office that meant you had to partake in the silliness?

I've too often worked with silly people who love the drama even to the point of jumping on the coat tails of other people's genuine dramas just so they could get some of the attention. Yes these people are irritating, but no more than you allow them to be. If you don't want to participate in the nonsense then don't. It really is that simple. All you've probably done is added to her drama cos now she can create a drama about how you reacted to her sorry situation, and aren't you horrible?? These people are just best avoided in general - leave someone else to pander to their self absorbed non-issues.
