I'm blasting out Nazareth, Cinderella, Warrant and Night Ranger (great names too) with 5,000 watts of raw power here, and I can see a mob of people coming over the horizon to join me for a party.:) So who likes the old glamtastic rock ballads? Go on, admit it, I won't tell anyone.

Just for the record, for those of us old enough to see Metallica on that tour, they were not classified as 'heavy metal' back then. They were almost without category. Some wanted to call them 'thrash, speed metal, etc ...'. They were never lumped in with 'heavy metal'.

I know my genre's a little better than some people who 'think they do'.

God there was sooo much shíte music in the 80s. There was some great stuff too, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, U2. But almost everything posted in this thread is absolutely rubbish and I'm so glad it died.

He didn't actually call them Heavy Metal, so I don't know why you felt the need to say that. However thrash metal would be more appropriate, as they have long be referred to as pioneers of thrash metal, along with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax, who are The Big 4.
