I've been out of the loop the past 12 months.

Last album I really got into was 'Tribes' debut in February 2012 and The Vaccines most recent effort.

Just grabbed myself a copy of Little Green Cars debut

    Any suggestions gratefully welcomed :)

Discovered this album recently: 'Africa' by Amanaz.
Never heard of these guys but considering they're Zambian and was released in 1975 in limited numbers that's not surprising.

I've no idea what was being put out in Zambia in 1975 but I'm pretty sure this must have been unique. A strange mix of folk, African, and Jimi Hendrix psychedelic rock, Radiohead! that just works. Well worth a listen.

Here's a track from an album I stumbled upon last weekend that I thought might be worth a listen...

    The Group: Cheyenne Marie Mize
    The Track: Among The Grey
The Album: Among the Grey (ditto)
The Sound: “tough, dreamy, cloudy-sky country and chamber pop” (New York Times via Wikipedia)

Good anyone advise me on any bands today who play indie music like these bands, i think the saying for it is Jangle indie(probably wrong on that).

    The Smiths
    R.E.M(there 80's stuff)
    Go -Betweens
    The Sundays
    House of Love
    teenage fanclub

any bands today you could suggest that plays this type of indie rock

If you like jangle indie you'll like bye fear / hi love by Neuman.
It's a band from Murcia who has teamed up with Ken Stringfellow of the Posies.

You can't go wrong with any of the 1st three NC&BS albums (his best IMO). At a push tho go for 'Kicking Against The Pricks'.

I found this band when I was on 8tracks - their song "Caught Time" came on - really chill, and I dug it. I downloaded their EP, (which was FREE) and it wasn't half bad - definitely worth a listen to see where these guys go. My favourite song is "Tonight."

From Scott 4 which contains only songs penned by Scott Walker himself.
Love the bass on this track..

    Hi,
Recommend some good live albums please?

I was listening to Violent Femmes Add It Up (81-93) las night and love the extra energy and dimension that songs live and crowd adds to it.

(I see that Nick Cave has a live album coming out soon, will check it out.)
    Cheers,
    Pa.
