I feel old because It's 7.14am on a Saturday morning and I'm not up because I was out on the lash last night and am in the horrors.I'm up because I had to pump some breast milk before my boobs exploded. Times - they have changed!

You had the baby! Congratulations :).

Hangovers lasting more than one day.. Last heavy-ish weekend session, I was still feeling the effects until Thursday.

Listening to the top 30 charts & have no idea who half the bands/artists are.

The Sunday bedtime music ended 12 years ago

I realised I was getting old when I knew none of the songs on newly released Now albums.

I think I started to lose it after Now 20.

I can't bear any of the music in the Top 20 - but which Top 20? There's so bloody many of them now!!

Every time I go into a particular eatery on Dame St I always feel like Methuselah :(

I watched "The Sting" last week - and realised it was FORTY YEARS OLD!!!!

Worse still - I even feel ancient when I go to a Chic concert!

Last year in the run up to my 40th birthday made me feel old and neurotic, once I got it over with in January it wasn't so bad.

Turning off Glastonbury last night because it was crap.

When most of the bands you listened to in the 80/90's are either dead or have split up.

The fact that MTV is so bad that it's been replaced as my background noise of choice by Time team.

When your body needs more and more maintenance and won't let you away with things that you could do easily in your 20's.

My mum turning 60 last year.

My Dad and 'little' Brother will be 60 and 40 respectively on the same day nxt year. I remember my Dad being 27. That's gonna be freaking expensive.

Feeling grumpy a lot of the time, grumpy and achey. I sometimes think every injury that you ever did as a child starts to come back to haunt you from your 30's onwards.

I read recently that Italia '90 was closer to the first Moon Landing than it is to now. Now, THAT made me feel old since Italia '90 was only the other year and the Moon Landing is ancient history.

So AH'ers. What makes you feel old and why?

I consider myself young at heart, and I try to keep active through my karate training. I'm in good health generally but my body does occasionally remind me that it's no longer at its peak. Apart from that:
    • I have children in college, with full driving licences.
    • My full head of hair is a distant memory.
    • I was married before most of my karate students were born
    • I remember life before PC's and the internet, before remote-control for the TV existed, before DVDs and I was there for the VHS vs Betamax debate
    • My childhood memories of TV programmes are in black-and-white
    • I no longer relish the idea of a late night out. If I'm not heading home by midnight I feel stressed.
    • Bits of me ache, especially joints, and my GP does not consider it worth trying to fix anymore
    • I've been around long enough that I'm financially secure (hey, not everything about ageing is bad)
    • I meet men and women in their 20's and realise I was in college with one or other of their parents. Killer!
    • I was saddened when The Beatles broke up, and when Elvis died.
    • In meetings, I am no longer the youngest attendee. Nine out of ten times I'm the oldest.
    • I remember long, hot summers in Ireland. I remember being sunburned by the time Wimbledon started in June.
    • I remember the first time ABBA appeared on Irish television, during the Eurovision Song Contest previews, which were screened in the two weekends before the actual contest, every year.
    • I watched Dana win the Eurovision Song Contest. I thought she was lovely ((Zen cringes))
    • I remember Noel's 'Swap Shop' fondly.
    • I remember three changes in Irish currency
    • I remember when RTE & BBC did not operate 24 hours a day
    • I watched the first moon landing live

If they remade Back To The Future now and still sent Marty 30 years into the past he'd arrive in...1983.

Saturday mornings. When it was all about getting up to watch Kids TV and Alive and Kicking, Saint and Greavie, Football Italia, and Grandstand covering everysport imaginable.

Now you enjoy watching Saturday Morning Kitchen, and your just trying to find some sport thats not on sky (today is the exception with Le Tour and Wimbledon on).

When you start looking at your pension scheme options and take serious consideration over them, as opposed to the quick scan you used to make.
