You do know what averages means right?

It means it is in the middle. Depending what the highest wages in New Zealand are and how many are on it, it may actually skew whaat people are on

I understand averages, some people trudge along on $20-50K a year, surprised their salaries are not making the average a lot less then $72K. Obviously a lot of people on six figures increasing the average.

Using the mean average; opposed to the median average is a poor indicator of average salary and gives a skewed view income. It is a misleading article if they have used the mean average and not stated so.

Heeeeeeeeere we go... "* This story has been amended. An earlier version incorrectly referred to the average NZ salary rather than those advertised on Seek."

Gotta say most people I know are closer to the 12-25,000 side of life (haha, probably something worth remembering when I'm posting in future, probably puts a bit of perspective on things...)
