Waterford to Carlow by car

What's the handiest Route to take to drive from Waterford to Carlow , if I was coming from dungarvan would I just head passed the turn off for Waterford as if I was going to Dublin and then take the n9

head up the new dublin road / carlow bypass.. turn off for carlow?

Yep if coming from Dungarvan, stay on the new road all the way, it by passes kilmeaden and the city, ignore all signs for Waterford, then you go through the toll, well worth it really, and over the bridge and then head up off the road at the first slip road and head for dublin...
