A breakers yard will have old crappy tyres, probably the cheapest but certainly not the best.
Decide on a brand tyre first, then ring 3-4 tyre places and see what they charge for that tyre. Go with whoever is cheapest?

my advice would be get a partworn decent brand rather than a new crappy brand, or shell out the extra few quid for a decent brand

I know people are looking to save money, but these 4 small patches of rubber (less than an A4 paper worth of rubber is joining your car to the road) are the biggest safety feature on your car.

You dont need to spend a fortune, but buy new and buy a decent brand.
