Tossing up between a Panasonic Lx7 and an Olympus Pen- E PL3.

For future proofing which is best?

For graduating from a Pana TZ7, which is best?

Which is nearest to DSLR?

Well the EP3 is a lovely little camera but has an old sensor at this stage.
Why not go for the new Panasonic gf6 ? Brand spanking new camera and a great price with the new 14-42 kit lens

LX7 is just a compact camera (a very good one mind) and probably around the same price as the gf6 at the moment.

Thanks for that muppetkiller, when it drops below 300 will pull the trigger as I have a TZ7 to move on. DP Review still to review it but it has all the bells and whistles.
