Do the DSR apply between UK & Ire?

Bought some things on eBay UK with Buy It Now. Got them today. Changed my mind. On the listing the seller has "no returns from outside the UK".

Just wondering if this is right? Surely the DSR still operate? Even if they don't then I could open a dispute in PayPal citing they are in poor condition and get a partial refund that way?

I should point out something rather critical though. The items I purchased were VHS tapes (from the nineties) which were not sealed. I believe if they had been sealed I had no right of return but I am not sure about unsealed goods?

    Thanks for any help! :)

Only if the DSR do apply and he refuses to abide by them.

If the seller doesn't want to accept it back. There's nothing to stop you from opening a case in ebay and have them to get you to return it.

    take a look here

you will have to pay the cost of shipping the goods back. your legal remedies if an overseas seller refuses to abide by the DSR are very limited and more than likely cost prohibitive if the goods are of a low value.

oops, deleted that last post by mistake.
if it's not a registered company, it's a private sale and distance selling relations do not apply.

also there are exemptions from DSR, which include:

    - Auctions, which might include this because even though it's BIN, it's still on an auction site

    - Copyable media, unless unopened.

Yeah I'm gonna leave it actually. Oh well. Chalk it up to experience.
